Well, there is dancing involved in shows/parades, but that's it. The majority of dancing is through equity (which CPs can't do).

It is, i don't know how to describe it. There is a contract, but it's a group different then entertainment. And yes, it's full time (though I think you could also be part time- not sure). There are auditions listed on www.disneyauditions.com.

Well, what roles did you select? If you selected custodial or QSFB (quick service food & beverage) you most likely will be put in one of those roles. The length of time for letters varies. For me my first letter came in 11 days, my second came almost 2 months because I had an audition. If you get accepted, the letter will state the general role (merchandise, operations, ect) but you won't find out where until you arrive in FL (like Fantasyland, Splash Mountain, ect).

Okay, I think I can roughly determine which general heights would correlate with certain characters, but does anyone know when someone would be considered too tall for a face character position? Someone has said princesses start at around 5'4"

I want to know everything there is to know about Quick Service Food and Beverage.....I read above that if you put it down on the form, you will probably get that job....which totally bums me out because I REALLY wanted Operations or Merch...anyway, I'm looking for anyone who can change my opinion about this job because right now, I would be a lot more excited if I didn't have QSFaB...

Operations and Merch may be your first choice, but if the CP is run the same way as when I was there the pay for F&B was higher than the other two. I worked at Le Cellier (before it was sit down service) and at that time the Canadian pavillion had the food port just down the way and a cart just out on the promenade with soda and fruit. I actually didn't mind it.

I was a CP in Fall of 2001 and loved it! It was the second time they accepted me in the program. First time, they offered the position of Culinary Assistant, which wasn't my thing and declined. Second time I was offered Merchandise hostess and accepted. I worked in the Emporioum at the Magic Kingdom and Baby Care Center. Lots of work, was tired a lot, but wouldn't change it for anything. Great co-workers, great friends, wonderful roommates. Don't miss the opportunity to go, it's a once in a lifetime opportunity.
Can't wait to go back !!!

I've heard some stuff about the housing/rooming situation being horrible. Things like people doing stupid stuff (drinking, bringing drugs into the rooms, etc.) and ruining it for everybody or getting people terminated. Did any of you experience any of that? Do you think it's worth it to rent an off-site apartment? I'm not of age to do the CP yet, but I'm curious and looking into it! I've also heard that you should really bring your own car. What do you guys think about that?

Did doing the CP delay graduating from regular college by a semester or make anything different in (*shudder*) the real world?

(Sorry if some of these were answered in different threads)

(So we don't end on a negative note...) What were some of the experiences that made it all worth it? (I love to hear those!)

I must be lucky so far. Over 3 programs I have not had any roomies be termed. I hope my next 2 programs will be as lucky. I wouldn't rent an apartment, because part of the CP experience is living in the apartments (at least it has been for me). As for the car, yes yes YES. If you can definitely bring a car. I have used the buses all 3 CPs. It is doable, but can be quite annoying. A car makes everything much easier. Plus, if you don't want to take it out one day you have the option of the buses.

Yes, it can delay you from graduating on time. I have done 2 full CPs (Spring 2005, and Fall Advantage 2006) and I am a semester behind. I should have been graduating in May; instead I hope to be graduating next December.

Oh man, I have so many wonderful experiences. I have met sooooo many great people (many of whom I still chat with and meet up with when I go back down to FL). I have discovered my dream job that I hope to go FT in once I graduate. I could keep going on and on.
