Fouch Family Wins the BIG Cinderella Castle Stay!

I was watching Midday on 5(Noon Newscast) and saw this...

A Michigan family is waking up this morning as the first people to spend the night in Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World.

Lisa and Jim Fouch and their children, 16-year-old Brad and eight-year-old Hannah are the winners of one of the top prizes in Disney's ``Year of a Million Dreams'' celebration.

A computer randomly picked the person sitting in a certain seat in the Star Tours ride at Disney-MGM Studios to stay in the castle last night. That person was Brad.

The Lansing-Michigan family had been staying at Disney's All Star Resort.

Other prizes in the contest include trips around the world as grand marshal in the Disney parade, a membership to the Disney Vacation Club and passes allowing guests to skip lines at attractions for the day.

I won a Dream Fastpass in December (which I then lost, hopefully someone got to enjoy it). Got it while waiting in line at the ToT.

Yup, I read that they won this prize right after they won Dream Fastpasses....hmmm, I never have that kind of luck.

It was Hannah's 8th Birthday, I heard on the radio. Every birthday after that will **** for her. lol

Now I'm wondering, do you have to be staying in a disney resort in order to win?

Yea good to know I am going in March and havent booked a room for my first night there because I am counting on staying in the castle. If not i am sleeping on a bench in downtown disney.

Not sure Jeanne, but I would guess if the computer picked a random seat on Star Tours then you don't have to be.
How would they know he was staying at a resort?

If it's anything like the other prizes they are giving away then it's just random. You just have to be at the right park at the right time.

I read on another site, that the seat is randomly picked and then if the winner accepts the prize, they go through a "short verification process" and then the fun begins. I really wonder what the "verification process" consisits of.

Because if I win, I'm saying I have 6 guests, because I will FIND 6 guests. I have 4 definitelys, and then my mom and dad actually would try to fly down from Wisconsin for the night if I win. So I'd fill it. If not I'd just invite more friends!
