It IS official - it was announced at the press event last week.

Toy Story Mania will be opening both at Disney-MGM Studios and Disney's California Adventure in 2008

It os going to be where "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" was and construction has started

I hated to see "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire Play It" go and I know spectulation is thats where this new Toy Story ride is going but I really do wish that they would just replace Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin with this and do something else with that new space that they have

Yes it is official. This afternoon at MGM I took pictures of the Millionaire building gutted out. You could see directly into the building. It was... interesting. Once I charge my batteries I'll get them posted.

Anyone else see this as a mix between Space Ranger Spin and those horrible carnival games you find at places like Six Flags? Granted, I think it's a cute idea and the whole 3D glasses thing intrigues me... just sort of feels "carnivally" to me.

It does sound a lot like spaceranger spin... great another ride where my Fiancee will kick my butt all of the time and get the high score bragging right until the next trip

It'll get worse when you're married... TRUST me... I never heard the end of it when we were engaged and now, we're about to make our first trip as a married couple and he's already talking about how he "can't wait to kick my butt again" on it.

All I can say is... it better be GOOD!!! Our passes expired in Sept (and we are going to renew them either this weekend or in a couple of weeks, depending on what I hear back about a job at WDW) but one of the things dh wanted to do was try to get a g'ma to watch the kids so we could spend a day at MGM alone and do Millionaire, which was one of my FAVORITE things at MGM!! I am bummed that it's gone

but OTOH, maybe my kids will learn to like MGM a little more! They are too spoiled by MK and all the rides, to really appreciate MGM. My plan is to get them to appreciate MGM a bit more (probably if we spend more time at PD they will....) because of all the really neat things that really ARE there..... but almost every time we go we end up at MK, so that's why they are so spoiled LOL
