Central Florida Devistated This Morning

This morning at 3:15 am a powerful storm system moved through central Florida that caused several tornadoes that knocked out power to 20,000 homes and left seven people dead.

My thoughts and my prayers go out to everyone who is effected by this, and if you know any one in this area that needs Magical Mountain's help please let us know, and we will help in anyway possible.

Yeah I just saw that on the news this morning and my family lives up there.Just waiting to here if everyone is fine.

My girlfriend and some of her family are IN Disney for this week. I wont hear from them probably until a little later today, but it sounds like most of the storm damage was East of there. The storms did however effect part of Volusia County where I am, but didn't get as far East as my apartment or campus.

Ironically, this storm system comes just barely a month after my school here in Daytona was hit by an F2 tornado on Christmas Day. It tore up our campus pretty good, and we're going to be in the recovery stage for some time still. $50mil in damages, yowzers. But at least no one was hurt by it. Thank goodness it came on a holiday when no one was at the school.

Between the Christmas Day storms and this storm system that moved through last night, I'm beginning to feel Florida is cursed. Between the hurricanes and the tornadoes and the severe thunderstorms and hail and all that jazz... maybe we should just move Disney a bit further north. Like let's say... back home to my place?

Good news. I talked to the girlfriend a little while ago, and everything's fine with herself and the family.
However, she was a little miffed at me for disturbing her on her vacation... Good grief!

I'm alive. There were tornados either below or above me. That was a bit... interesting. I was in Polk County for it, which had a lot of the bad storms this morning. I just walked to class in lots of rain and wind, but we're okay in Lakeland. Disney is safe. It pretty much avoided the area.

There IS some flooding throughout parts of Celebration and my drive between there and school. So if anyone is driving this way later today (to disney) be careful!
