Flashback at EPCOT!

I got this from WDW News Today:

Flashback 25???

By the time October 1st rolls around, you may believe it's Epcot's 15th anniversary and the year is 1997. Not only has the giant Mickey wand that was erected in 1999 completely gone, but the floral pattern depicting the classic Epcot logo has also returned behind Spaceship Earth. The logo is indeed returning permanently, and the classic Epcot lettering may also be returning just as soon. All the pavillion logos will be returning in new forms eventually as well, just not anytime in 2007. It seems as though what we thought for months was classic Epcot logo merchandise, is actually quite current.

I'm glad to see this. Although I don't remember much of Epcot's "glory days", it is great to see Disney is slowly returning Epcot to it's former self. Now only if they would kick Nemo out of the Living Seas and bring back the Hydrolators, then I'll be happy.

i have never been to epcot.. so this will be my first impression this year! what better time to go! the start fresh and new again

I noticed this on WDWMagic's forums, and it's great to see the old logo there behind Spaceship Earth again. Makes perfect for the big 25th coming up!

Definitely excited Epcot is returning to some of its roots.

my last visit to EPCOT was 1992, so i'm starting to think it will look like not much has changed LOL

Back before the Nemo Invasion at the Living Seas, the pavillion was themed as a underwater "seabase". The hydrolators would supposedly take you from the surface to this seabase (like an elevator but you never actually moved). I just liked it because it is one of the first attractions that I can remember going to. I tried to post a video but it wouldn't let me.
