I am personally glad that Disney handled the situation the way they did. The coaches and chaperones should have done more to prevent this from happening but they didn't. When I was at WDW for Magic Music Days with my high school band and chorus we were on lockdown the whole time. If we made one wrong move we were going home and we would still be seeing some consequences the following school year and for the seniors that were there, they weren't getting their diploma. It may sound a little harsh but there were no problems at all and we all had a great time.

Disney is supposed to BE SAFE... a person should NOT have to watch there backs or worried about getting punched.. When the words started, it should of stopped then. Disney was right to toss them all out. What if there was another break out because someone was mad that some of their squad got tossed out???
Parents/Guardians/Coaches should of made it known that they all would of been tossed out and to curb their behaviior no matter what another person or team said. It still gave no right for anyone to throw a punch unless thier defending themselves.

More News on Fight
The following is a more detailed insight from a CM who was there:

This actually has a link to mousebits.com which has the same report on it. It turns out there were two fights, they were warned after the first one...

Either way it's Disney's decision and property. If they see need in doing something, it's their right to do it.

Orange County couldn't even figure out what happened exactly, who started it and who was involved specifically. Disney tossed them all I'm sure for this reason. That site also states many families were indeed woken up and told to leave, some with small children. While I wouldn't disagree the people involved could face a ban, what good would it do to ban a one year old for life. Could you see the PR nightmare "Babies and Toddlers" banned for life from Disney!" There would be no way for Disney not to look silly for banning anyone who couldn't walk much less talk. I think Disney probably looked at the big picture and solved the problem by tossing the groups. Problem solved.

I think Disney did the right thing, if they kept the atheletes there it would only make the situation worse.

I agree with you, though the actual fighters and adults involved could have been banned...I think Disney did exactly the right thing...I am finding that this other forum has some very INTENSE members.

Which is why we usually don't like links to their site.

If you would like me to remove it I will. I found the first post had actual news that was relevant to this topic.

This time it's okay as it is very relevant to our discussion as you said.

I agree, it was the only place I saw the whole story and there are probably some that have not read it yet. Serves a purpose. Can't say I'll be visiting that site, a bit dark for me.

It seems like in the article, they were hiding what the incident was. Since it is unclear what the "violent act" was, or at least the extent of it, it's fairly hard to decide whether or not the situation was handled correctly.

If something goes wrong it is MY fault as I didn't watch and monitor more closely. It's MY job that is on the line. I make both girls and parents get something signed and notarized that if they break any of the major rules they are sent home on the next flight at the parents expense.
Coaches that allow this foolishness to go on should not be a coach. Not only do I try to get my dance team to win awards and contest but I'm also a role model. It's my job to help make sure that they are behaving accordingly and in a manner that is respected by others. Coaches like these teams obviously had should not be allowed to continue. I guarantee you I'd be pulled in front of the school board the second we got home.
I agree with princess ariel and i think yu sound like a great coach. coaches and parents both need to look after these kids and i agree, these kids no matter what their ages should have had a curfew for one, and been escorted or watched by an adult. princess ariel id let my kids on yur team anyday.
