Nuclear Plant Shuts Down
I saw on the news today that a nuclear plant in florida shut down and that 3 million people were without power. I was just wondering if this had any effect on Walt Disney World today. I couldn't imagine looking forward to going to Disney and then something like this happens.
I seem to recall Disney (or more correctly, Reedy Creek) has their own power station, no?
Ok. Thanks. I was just curious.
I don't think it effected Disney but, I do recall hearing on the news disney cut some of their resort power. Dont know how much truth is in that but take it for what its worth.
Yes Reedy Creek does have its own power source, so I don't think they were affected to much, if at all.

I did hear something on the internet somewhere about some of the resorts losing power for a few minutes, don't know how much truth there is there though since I wasn't there myself.
Upcoming Trips to WDW:
Dec 6-10: Disney Wonder
Dec 10-19: Port Orleans French Quarter
They probably lost power due to the storm that was coming in that day. I lost power for a few minutes due to the storm, not the nuclear plant. It looks like the plant affected those on the east coast from miami up to daytona, and only went as far west as 1/3 or less of orange county and downward. Still, that's a lot of people affected, but not as much as I originally thought.
Yep there were some minor outages earlier this week at Disney. Nothing to worry over though.
