Pirates Down For Refurb

I may have missed this, but just wanted to let you all know that on the Disney website, it has Pirates down for rehab June 5, 2008 to June 18, 2008.

Bummer for those who are going to be missing it.

I found the notification online too! Man this stinks! POTC reopens on the day we leave. What are the chances they'll get done early?

That was my question earlier. What really ticks me off is this is our first trip since '05 and one of our favorite rides is down. One of the few perks about going in the summer and suffering in the heat is that the rides are up and going because is its the busy season.

Oh my gosh! That's exactly when I'm going!

Does anyone know if it will be closed on the 18th? My Aunt and Uncle are going to be there the week before us, and the last time they were there, it was closed for rehab.

Thankfully, this isn't happening while I I had a trip planned. I think I'd probably reschedule. It's jsut not the same without Pirates. Last time, I think I rode it around 10 times.

Hmm...there is a slight chance I would say, but don't get your hopes up. I do remember once that a cretain ride was supposed to be closed the day I was visiting that partk, but it was open so that was a nice surprise. I can't remember what it was, but I do know it happened, so keep your fingers crossed!

We'll be there June 25th. I hope it's done on time. Last time we went SSE was down for refurb. I can't imagine what people feel when they come from other countries to see certain attractions and they're down. If I came from England to see Pirates and it was down I'd freak out and take Smee hostage.

Oh didn't you get the update???? They are closing down all of WDW when you are supposed to be there! The Mouse out front should have told you!

Well I'm glad it's happening after our trip but I too am lost as to why... although... wasn't there recently a rumor about another "ash dumping" into the waters of POTC? Maybe they have to empty and refill? Hrm no that can't be it because I can't imagine they'd wait to do that.

The timing is pretty short to be anything major. Maybe just some cleaning or something? Maybe there's a pirate who is broken in some way?
