I just signed the petition and joined the Facebook page. I'm going to post links over at a few other fourms and my blog. Probably won't do any good, but who knows. Remember Figment?
Also, if anyone cares to write a letter to Mr. Iger:Hello Fellow Adventurers,
We are off to a good start. The Facebook Group is blossoming, there are two petitions out there and the number of signatures is growing every hour, and Brandon De Hoyos’ first radio show was magnificent (Internet Radio, Citizen Broadcasting, Social Media Podcasts - Blog Talk Radio), and hopefully executives were listening. Now we must focus on physical letter writing. Remember, that while a stack of letters can be thrown away, it can not be as easily dismissed by the pressing a delete button. Please, begin to flood the Executives mailboxes, with multiple copies of letters if need be. Remember, we are writing to the top Walt Disney Company Executives, so please be professional about what you write. Emotional and Entertaining stories about experiences at the club are a good topics, as well as presenting your reason as to why The Adventurers Club must remain open. However, I can not stress strongly enough, please refrain from using obscenities of any kind, and downplay the fact that it is a good place to get drunk.!
That kind of language will only be detrimental to our cause, and (as unfortunate as it is) Disney is currently EXTREMELY CHILD CONTIOUS as opposed to it old family friendly ways, so please try to avoid mentioning alcohol. Once again Adventurers this is an excellent start, so do not let anyone (Jim Hill for example) tell us that we are wasting our time. This is a cause we all believe in, and we shall fight it to the very end. If you begin to lose hope, just remember our Club Motto:
Some days you eat the bear.
Some days the bear eats you.
But always dress for the hunt!
Kungaloosh!

2009 & 2010 WDW Half Marathons, 2009 Disneyland Half Marathon,
Next Visit to the World: March '09 for Princess Half Marathon Weekend?
Okay, so we've all been hearing about it for the longest time. The rumors may now become reality. But I always heard that while Disney execs were planning to close all the clubs, that they were seriously intending on saving/keeping the Comedy Warehouse and my beloved Adventurer's Club due to their overwhelming popularity.
Could there be any shred of truth to this possibility? Somebody make me feel better about this. The "good" news is that at least I will be in WDW the night of the final Kungaloosh. See you all on the 27th where I will share with any drunk ear who will listen - all my wonderful years of memories at this place.
And let me just say with heartfelt emotion once again - Kungaloosh. I'll always be an "Adventurer". And just in case you see me there and want to buy me a drink - tea, perhaps. No thanks, I'll have a beer.

I have also signed the petition, but had no idea there was a Facebook group. I am off to locate it and join it.

Interesting idea . . .
Hello Adventurers,
I just received a message from Jenny Ledet of The University of New Orleans who wrote:
"I started a website for the Save the Adventurer’s Club letter-writing campaign. Other successful letter-writing campaigns have had some kind of gimmick, so I thought ours could be sending in mini tribal masks (a la the Mask Room). I also made up a form letter and mailing labels to make it as easy as possible to send in letters. Hope we can do something to save the AC together!
Kungaloosh!

Here is the next step we must take Adventurers. The petitions are growing in numbers daily, and the time is approaching to when they will be printed and physically sent to the executives; the radio show continues to share wonderfully stories and ideas; and we know at least one person has received a phone call from the executive offices with a small speck of hope for the cause, which is more than what we had on June 27th. Please Adventurers, take up Jenny's suggestion and let's flood the executives with letters and masks!
KUNGALOOSH!
Get those calls in tonight and tomorrow!
Done, and doneWe have two very important shows coming up tonight and tomorrow that we will need callers for. (blogtalkradio.com/savepi)
We have received CONFIRMATION that the Disney Executives are MONITORING OUR RADIO PROGRAM; That means every voice is needed to fill every minute. Bring your opinions and lets ask the executives to save the Adventurers Club/Pleasure Island.
Tonight, 11 p.m. EST (that's Florida time, ya'll! Adjust for your own state... 10 p.m. CST (Texas), 9 p.m. Mountain (Utah), 8 p.m. Pacific (California).
Friday night, from 10 p.m. until 11:30 p.m. EST (again, adjust to your own time slots if you're not in Lake Buena Vista, FL.)
I appreciate all you are doing for our cause!

Steve Jobs might be listening in tonight, get your calls in!
Everyone,
Tonight, our final show of the week, may very well include Apple CEO Steve Jobs as an audience, maybe a caller, according to an email I received from an executive at Apple.
This executive told Steve about our fight and Steve said he'd consider, from what I've been told; HOWEVER, I am not going to verbalize this as much as I am going to ask him for help on tonight's program.
AND I NEED YOUR HELP.
If we have dead air at all tonight, he might think its not a real fight and might care less...BUT, if we fill those precious 90 minutes with our stories and our suggestions--and of course--Apple/iPod/iPhone worship, we might stand a chance haha

P.S: PASS THIS ON!
Dear Mr. Egan, (I'm a girl, by the way)
Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World Resort.
We recognize that the closing of Adventurer's Club will disappoint
Guests who have come to enjoy the unique entertainment that has been
offered over the years. With that in mind, please know a tremendous
amount of thought went into the decision as we bring the new vision for
Downtown Disney to life. As we look to the future, we are excited about
the evolution that will occur over the next two years, introducing a
brand new mix of shopping, dining and other experiences for our Guests'
enjoyment.
Our Guests' feedback, as well as their continued enthusiasm for our
products and services, are very important to us. We genuinely
appreciate the time you took to share your thoughts with us.
Sincerely,
Walt Disney World Resort

Dear Mr. Lansberry:
My father, as a young man, went to Disney World at the grand opening in
1971. Right there and then, he knew that when he had kids, he would
start a family tradition of going there every year. He kept that
promise and sure enough, I've been to Disney World 35 times! I'm a huge
Disney World enthusiast and in my whole life, I've never written to
someone in a respectable position such as yours.
For the past 19 years, from the time I was 14 up until now, the
Adventurer's Club has been a huge part of my vacation fun! As a
lifelong fan and customer of Walt Disney World, I understand that change
is good. It was part of Mr. Disney's viewpoint to keep up with the
times. What I do not understand is the need to close ALL the clubs in
Pleasure Island. Adventurer's Club has legions of fans out there
besides me and from a business standpoint, it's a huge draw each and
every night! This club, along with the Comedy Warehouse, could serve as
continuous moneymakers for the Disney company. While 8-Trax and similar
"dance" clubs may not be part of your new vision, AC and CW clubs are
uniquely "Disney". It would provide alternative entertainment in a sea
of new restaurants and shops.
Change is good, but not all change. It has to be the right change.
Couldn't you consider having the best of both worlds - making way for
new things while keeping those nostalgic places that survive the trends
of time and make fans happy.
If you want to know how your guests really feel, I know so many of them
feel the way I do. Just look online at all of the support groups for
the Adventurer's Club. People understand closings. Mr. Toad and River
Country had fans but it was their time to go. Please know that there is
nobody I know that is ready to let go of their Kungaloosh drink. Please
keep it going!
Thank you for your attention.
Best Regards,
Jamie Egan (a very devoted guest)

KEVIN LANSBERRY ATTACKS!
Last night, several from this Facebook group reported DTD VP Kevin Lansberry showed up at the Adventurers Club last night and pulled people one by one out of the club who were suspected of passing out handbills with information about the petitions and groups working to save the Adventurers Club.
When Lansberry was later accosted by people who were ****** at his
presence, what he was doing, etc., he jumped on his Segway and zoomed off into the night only to return with even more security personnel, including a bodyguard-type who followed Lansberry throughout the Island.
Three separate guests reported to our program that there were
literally dozens of Disney security personnel at the AC, alone, last
night.
Also new last night:
*A new rumor has surfaced which suggests the Walt Disney Company has
not signed a single contract for the venues it hopes to put up in
place of the AC and other Pleasure Island. FOR ANYONE WHO ONCE
SUGGESTED THIS EFFORT WAS FUTILE, think again. We have a huge asset in this news. Keep fighting.
