Castle Christmas Lights and Other Lights Going Up

One of our readers visiting the park this week noticed that the large lighting units that illuminate the castle near the moat are in the process of being replaced with some kind of new unit that appears to use LEDs. Meanwhile it also looked as if the net of LEDs for the Christmas snow effect is also starting to go up on the castle. We can only assume that perhaps some new visual effects for Wishes and Holiday Wishes are in the works.

Wow, can't believe the castle lights are going up all ready. The Christmas decorations seem to go up earlier each year.

yeah, I thought they usually waited till just after the halloween bash, like the first week of november?

Far be it from me to disagree with ScreamScrape, but I was in the MK on Saturday the 16th, and we did not see the light-net on the castle at all. <shrug>

These were taken over the same weeken but I'm not sure of the dates. (So it could be from Sunday or Monday.)

I had a little trouble seeing where they were last year but once you really look you can see them.

It takes months to get up all the Holiday Decorations going up at Disney, so they start around this time each year. You'll see the lights at the studios going up along with the castle lights!

I can't believe I am finally, FINALLY going to see the Castle lit for Christmas this year!

My group will be there 11/8-11/14. It has been quite a few years since I have seen any holiday fare. I am hoping the lights will be up and running. The MVMCP starts that week, so maybe I will be in luck!

I agree, that would be pretty neat. Its very easy to put multiple color effects in one LED light. Some for the snow effect, and maybe some for a bit of red, orange, and some eerie purple's.
