MK Castle Christmas Lights Spreading Out

When I mentioned that the Castle’s new Christmas lights were going up early this year, it turns out there is another reason for this as well. There will be more lights this year than last year, as the effect will be expanded from the front of the castle, out into the hub a bit as well as covering the back of the castle too. From what I’ve heard, this is all part of a five-year land to expand these Christmas lights all the way down Main Street and eventually cover the train station as well. At this point, they’ll have the ability to do some neat lighting effects with this future Christmas show productions.

With all those lights I would be scared that it would all catch fire. o.O
Or blow a fuse some where. xD
But either way I'm sure it will be prettyful. ;D

I wouldn't worry about fire too much. If I recall correctly, they use LEDs which are much cooler and MUCH more energy effecient than incandescent lightbulbs.

I can't wait to see the photos. We will miss the lights by a month or so since we will be there at the beginning of October!!!

They really did do an amazing job of color-matching the lights to the Castle. It took me a minute or two to find where they have already been hung, and I knew what to look for! The big crane was back this week to hang the lights on the top spires.

Wow, even more lights than last year? I've never been down for Christmas. I can only imagine what it will look like a year or two down the road if they plan on expanding the lights all the way to the train station. I'm sure pictures won't and don't do it justice.

Last year I thought it was weird and looked weird that they didn't put lights on the back of the castle. I'm glad that they are doing that at least.

So what are the chances of the lights still being up at the end of January? I saw them on the castle last year and it looked amazing. A couple of friends are going for their first winter trip with us and I'd love for thm to see the lights.

Very little chance gigilowanananic. They usually stay up til the second week in Jan.

The light display at Disney's Hollywood Studios is only open until January 4th this year. That's usually a good indication of when the decorations will start disappearing.
