Hong Kong Troubles

Hong Kong Disney: Growing pains in the Mouse's smallest property

Found this on AOL. I've heard they were haveing some troubles, but I haven't heard of a Shanghai park

I have a real problem with Disney building parks in communist countries. The article was interesting, though; especially the part that mentioned Hong Kong Disney is built on a reclaimed toxic waste dump. That made me want to go there even more!

I totally understand your sentiment. Unfortunately, with the strength of China in the global economy, the idea that companies (Disney included) would refuse to or avoid pursuing business opportunities with China, because of their political viewpoint is just unrealistic.

Now the fact that HKDisney has been less than a smashing success is another story. But it's hard to tell companies that China is not good enough to do business with but is good enough to buy up all our (U.S.)debt.

Either way, it will be interesting to see how this expansion affects HKDisney, it seems a step in the right direction.
