I share the same thoughts and feelings as everyone here. This is very tragic news. I know that Disney takes safety very seriously. Let's hope that the cause is conveyed after the investigation is complete. I am sorry for the cast member who lost their life. My prayers will go out to their family and friends. A truly sad closing to a Happy Fourth of July.

My heart goes out to the Family and friends of the cast member as well as all the cast members of WDW. 38 years and no fatalities is a good run considering he amount of guest the system transports everyday. I trust that Disney will find the cause of this tragedy and maybe the system will even safer in the future. In my opinion 21 is too young to be in charge of a train that transports guest. Thats just my thoughts.
I will pray for all involved may God be with everyone involved.

What a horrible tragedy for this man and his family. I hope this can be resolved for them as soon as possible.
I have read the articles, looked at the photos, and watched the video. I may have missed it but I am unclear on which pilot was killed. Was it the pilot of Monorail Pink or the rear pilot of Monorail Purple (I am assuming that there is still a pilot in each end of the monorail.) Thanks for any information.
This is just a horrible tragedy and I feel for the CM's family, friends and fellow CM's.
Plus I want to personally thank everyone for focusing on what counts in this story. On another board I frequent some chose to blame it on cost cutting. That's neither here nor there at the moment, so again thank you for keeping things in perspective.
I am having a hard time wrapping my mind around what happened. So totally sad and tragic. I need to understand how this happened and I know it is going to take time as they investigate.
I saw the pictures and my first thought was that I was glad the monorail trains were not full of people. We would be mourning more than one person I'm afraid. My prayers are with this young man's family.

It is hard to see the images of the timeless monorails smashed together and even harder to know that there was a life lost as a result of the accident.
