That's going to make it mighty awkward at IOA.
Apparently Disney has purchased Marvel and its superhero's.
Deal still needs to be approved for Anti-trust reasons.

Yeah, I wonder what the IOA contract dates are. I would guess that there won't be any change for several years.
After then, who knows what the licensing move will be. Maybe they'll have to construct a big hat or something to block some features of the Spider-Man or Hulk rides!
Have you seen my dad? Would you page him for me?
Next Family trip = April 16 - April 23, 2011, staying in an All Star Vacation Home!
I think it is a good thing and bring more money into the company. It will be akward but they prob. will make universal pony up so big money to keep the characters on the rides. It will be interesting non the less to see how it all folds out.
Total Trips to Disney World: 12
Last Trip To Disney World: 02/2012 - All-Star Movies
Next Trip To Disney World: 05/2012 - Yacht Club Resort
Here are some things running through my mind right now from this recent announcement.
1. Bob Iger said 3 or 4 years ago "No new theme parks in Orlando for the forseeable future".
2. Two years ago Meg Crofton renamed MGM Studios to Hollywood Studios and she said "Hollywood Studios will reflect the Hollywood of today". She also said the park would change to reflect that theme. Maybe this purchase was part of what she meant.
3. There's a ton of space where the Backlot Tour is currently located.
There's a lot to be done before any of this reaches the theme parks or WDW in general. In other words, it maybe a year or two before any Marvel attractions or experiences reach the Disney parks.
Don't know how I feel yet, the Hulk, The Thing and Spiderman walking around Disney with the likes of Snow White, Mickey Mouse and Pluto. But trying to keep an open mind and see where this all goes.
But my first feelings right away were Oh No there goes the neighborhood. But it will be interesting to see where this all goes. My thinking is if they had to lay off staff last year due to economic woes, then why (or how) come up with billions IN CASH.............,

After the announcement of the purchase
Marvel Stock rose .26
Disney Stock fell .86
Kinda shows who is happy and who is not.
I look at the revenue that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles brought to
Disney.

You have your facts wrong:
Disney to buy comic book powerhouse Marvel for $4B - Yahoo! Finance
Marvel shares shot up $9.91, or 26 percent, to $48.56 in midday trading Monday. Disney shares fell 82 cents, or 3 percent, to $26.02.
Marvel stock jumped becasue Disney is essentially offering $50 a share for it.
I think it'll be a good thing... Just as long as it doesn't impact ont he parks too much...
Time for a 5th park - Disney's Marvel Land / World?...

Expect to see a 'tamer' version of the popular Spiderman attraction at IOA, we'll keep some 3D elements of the ride, change the voice casting, make it glow in the dark and interactive like Buzz Lightyear, and voila! We have a winning Disney attraction!

I am still unsure what I think about the whole thing myself but I'm happy that Disney was able to add Marvel to the many things they own. It should be interesting to watch it play out, especially with Universal! I agree with what most people have said here about not wanting to see the Hulk with Snow White and such but I hope Disney can use this to their advantage! Congrats to Disney
I just hope with Disney purchasing Marvel that a new X-men movie ends up in the works. (Hugh Jackman's H-O-T Hot!)
