Hey guess what..... This is in a opinion forum not a place to correct grammar. If you want to do that go teach. Also, I understand they can't just take Universals ride. But if they could it would be just a good spot for it that's all.

Oh come on! He's allowed to bring someone up on their grammar.

BTW it's "an" not "a" opinion.

Still not keen on this idea just cannot see it fitting into Disney, Disney has always been magic fairy dust etc and the IOA has always been Superheroes and villains. Glad the rides in Universal will be able to keep operating.

Some rather silly comments on this thread.

I don't really have issues with this. I mean on paper, what difference is there between Darth Maul walking around DHS and Power Rangers meet and greet compared to Marvel Superhero Weekend? Plus Disney is really good with brand intergity. They are not going to damage their properties, just to use Marvel characters in park.

I understand why people are wary about this as it seems quite unlike Disney. However when you think about it a lot of Disney is about heroes and villains; just they don't have superpowers.

I think you should just wait and see what they do with the Marvel brand before making any decisions whether it's a good buy or not.

Also I don't think people have been silly in their comments, just excited to see what will happen.

Re: Disney to acquire Marvel - What do you think?

I don't need to see what Disney does with characters that I've never been interested in and never will be interested in to know it's not a good thing. To me, the marvel characters have as much appeal as the wiggles or sesame street muppets. I just hope they're not forced down my throat once I walk into the Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios or whatever area they intend to pollute with their inclusion. If the deal goes through I hope they stay far in the periphery.

    I totally agree,
sure Marvel doesn't have princesses but Marvel and Disney has hero's and bad guy... just Marvel has them with totally awesome superpowers.

they both has a hero saving a girl from the bad guys. so what's really the difference.

Re: Disney to acquire Marvel - What do you think?

Well I talked to a CM at Epcot last Monday. I was wearing an Iron Man T shirt so he struck up a conversation. He said that the long and the short of the deal is that Universal can use the characters they have but any new ones are off limits. He also said that the Marvel themed rides can stay but there won't be any new ones and if Universal closes down one of the rides they cannot replaced with another Marvel themed one.

Re: Disney to acquire Marvel - What do you think?

Eh, I think this is a fine deal for both companies.
Disney has a history of making sure that their characters retain their integrity so I imagine they will treat the marvel characters with the same respect.
And I don't see this as spelling doom for the Magic Kingdom. While I can agree that pixar characters have been shoehorned into some lands, I don't see disney treating the marvel property the same way. I could however see A marvel influence in Hollywood Studios. And I don't think that will be a bad thing.

Re: Disney to acquire Marvel - What do you think?

I really hope they are able to keep the two separate. I love marvel and would really hate to see Disney meddle in the comics department. I agree that they are probable looking to increase there product placement with young boys.

There is a site called worth1000.com that has some amazing crossover art check it out. I think The Hulk dressed as snow white is my favorite so far.
