Re: It's Kinda of a Sad Day For The T.T.A.

All things must change with the times. Thats life.
It may go back to a "retro" narration when the space refub is done, if not..
i dont see a big deal about it.
The children of today will see this as retro 20 years from now.
We dont, as adults, "own" the "old times".. let our kids enjoy things that are relevant to THEM. My 4 year and 2 year old hasnt ridden the TTA, in 1.5 years or so, he/she WILL. Dont they deserve an attraction that THEY can relate to like we did as kids?
Just sayin.....
Either way, we will continue to ride and enjoy.......the peoplemover.

For me, it was like a time warp since it was 2007 before I returned to WDW to first hear the classic TTA spiel. I guess I'm not offended by the change as many others are. The tram conductor confirmed in his own spiel that this was the first day of the new TTA - I guess planned to coincide with the Buzz Lightyear ticker tape parade featuring Buzz Aldrin.

If it's one thing I realized when I returned to WDW after a 20 year hiatus, it is that change is the only constant (SO much had changed in that time, particularly for me the changes in the character of EPCOT). I'll miss the mention of Tom Morrow, but hey - there remains a small tribute to the old Flight to the Moon/Mission to Mars ride in Mission Space (the short mission control monitor video of the bird breaching the security perimeter and crash-landing). Each small detail of the attractions embeds itself in our memories and, for the nostalgic in me, grows in significance when replaced.

It's still a relaxing ride, and I'm really glad that this classic attraction exhibiting a WED technology (that really still should be utilized in the real world) still exists in Tomorrowland, whatever the spiel may be.
An absolutely wonderful post!

Re: It's Kinda of a Sad Day For The T.T.A.

Does anyone know of a site I can download a mp3 of the recently replaced T.T.A. audio track? I like to keep a copy of it for my own historical collection of music/audio from the park.

This change doesn't bother me so much. But it doesn't help the changes of them keeping the same Space Mountain music in the que line.

I don't mind changes...as long as they are upgrades to the experience. Unfortunately, of late, the opposite seems to be a more common outcome.

I would love this info as well! In fact links or sources for audio of any attractions current or extinct.

Re: It's Kinda of a Sad Day For The T.T.A.

TTA is one of my favorite attractions. In fact it was always the last ride I would take on a Disney vacation before June 2009 trip when it was closed. I will be very interested to see if I have the same sentimental attraction to it with a new audio track.

Maybe it is more about the ride, the relaxtion and the time for reflection than I realize???!!!

Re: It's Kinda of a Sad Day For The T.T.A.

If the track will be updated after Space Mountain is back in action, perhaps this is just a temporary patch. If enough "concern" is expressed by fans, perhaps a modified version will be released upon re-opening.

Any thoughts on the best way to make our feedback known to Disney for these types of issues?

I think it is sad, too...it was one of those things that always felt comfortable and I always looked forward to it, but times do change I guess!

Re: It's Kinda of a Sad Day For The T.T.A.

Why didn't they go the whole hog and get Cinderella and the Fairy Godmother to narrate it?

I'll miss the old narration, but I can't pass judgement on it until I ride it next month. I do think the new lights are cool though.
