You disappoint me, good sir. Expected more from you. Do note the sarcasm that followed (that change from Alien Encounter to Stitch wasn't wise). Remember... I'm on your side, here.

Re: It's Kinda of a Sad Day For The T.T.A.

I guess sometimes things need to go downhill in order to appreciate what it was that made it great in the first place, and hopefully to make it even better the next time it is changed.

Change might not be for the better but that is life. Change is what makes life interesting and how we choose to go with that change.

One day hopefully mr morrow will return in some shape or form.

Never a problem. The "Change is good" was followed by "Holy ****, why would they change that". Which is why I closed with, "Yep, change is good". Seeping with sarcasm, that post was.

I'm sorry. It's apparent to me now. My sarcasm filter was clogged but I just cleaned it so it's all good in the neighborhood from this point on.

Re: It's Kinda of a Sad Day For The T.T.A.

Finally got down to the World on MLK weekend and rode the new Tomorrowland Transit Authority. And I can say with 100% certainty that I despise the new TTA.

The narration is corny and campy, not to mention the lame references to the rides that interrupts the tour. Gone are the Tom Morrow's and the party from Saturn's... instead are Stitch and Roz.

But nothing upsets me more than the absence of the Star Tunnel music. Everybody, and I mean everybody, who has ridden the TTA loved the spacey, dreamy music playing inside of Space Mountain. So what do they do? They take it out completely, and stick it in the new queue for Space Mountain. There is absolutely no music playing during the dark stretches inside Space Mountain, why in the world would you not have it in there?

The old narration told the story of Tomorrowland and how the TTA was the "super skyway" that circled the land that is modeled to be "the future that never was". Now it doesn't seem to fit in... the TTA is just another ride that advertises Tomorrowland's attractions. It completel contradicts Space Mountain's new story about Starport Seventy-Five. Irony?

I hope someone knocks some sense into the Imagineers and gets the old narration and Star Tunnel music back. Or else I'll have another sleepless night.

I completely agree. I understand that Disney must go through changes in order to grow and appeal to their audience. But this is obviously not appealing! I am surprised that the imagineers are so blind to how much we love the Star Tunnel and the original TTA narration. I mean look what happened when we found out about Mr. Toad closing! Obviously someone in the imagineering department does not understand or listen to its consumers. And that person does not belong in the imagineering department (its probably the same person who is in love with Stitch and is sticking him all over the place).

Yes and no. Boards like these are for Disney enthusiasts and, dare I say, purists. The average person visiting the parks who maybe hasn't been there in ten years, or perhaps never at all, doesn't care if Toad is here or gone. Or what the old narration vs. the new narration sounds like. They have nothing to compare it to. ****, I have very vague recollections of swan boats running around the Castle. But I don't shed a tear every time I walk near the moat and don't see the boats there anymore.

I don't think imagineering makes content decisions...I think it's management that directs the imagineers as to what their assignments are. I blame the suits for ruining things.

I can see why others miss it. But as long as they don't get rid of the ride, I'm happy.

Re: It's Kinda of a Sad Day For The T.T.A.

I'm heading down in April to hear it live for the first time. I'll probably bring my Ipod with the old narration to listen to after the first go round!

I like the old narration. It was corny, like always, but amazing. It just isn't the right thing. Like always, the Peoplemover should stay the same. No refurbishment.

Unhappy Re: It's Kinda of a Sad Day For The T.T.A.

I have to agree, it truly is a sad day for the T.T.A.
I rode on the T.T.A. in the beginning of February this year, and I was concerned that the refurb had diminished the quality of the attraction based on rep[orts that Ihad heard. I went in with an open mind and left with "what was that ?" The narration was poor, more like an advertisement then entertaining narration. I had hoped for more improvements in the ride itself. Well, at least they didn't change the view of tomorrowland and Cinderella Castle!

Re: It's Kinda of a Sad Day For The T.T.A.

The new narration seems more like an afterthought than something that was actually planned. It's like they opened the ride and at the last minute someone at Disney said, "I guess there should be audio...throw something together in 10 minutes and we'll use that."
