im confused on why they chose that picture. they show some cops interviewing a pretty girl in what could possibly be downtown disney. yet no picture of the man arrested, cops arresting the man, or of a definitive downtown disney.

anyways im glad they caught him early

was he just walking around alone, randomly flashing gang signs? who does that? im pretty sure people in real gangs dont even do that?

So, somebody actually saw the weapon in a restroom stall, but left it for the gangbanger to retrieve? Really, if you see a weapon, secure it and report it immediately to authorities.

…Saturday night at Downtown Disney, guests noticed a man with a gun in a restroom. They immediately notified Disney Security. Three off-duty police officers responded and caught up with the man, 24-year-old Frankie Gonzalez. When Gonzalez began trying to get away from them, a 9mm Glock handgun loaded with 14 rounds fell from his front waistband. According to the police report, the frame and slide portions of the gun had different serial numbers. The serial number of the frame portion matched that of a handgun reported lost by the Orlando Police Department. Gonzalez was charged with carrying a concealed firearm and resisting arrest without violence. WFTV is reporting that Gonzalez is a known gang member.

Because he has no formal training and therefore no true knowledge of the weapon he carried. He's a punk, probably shoots the thing side ways. I said it once and I'll say it again, thank God HR 215 lets TRAINED/CERTIFIED active and retired police officers carry their firearms anywhere while off duty.

Those are WDW security officers. Those guys have a thankless job.

Err, I agree with active, I have an officer 2 properties down from me and I have a retired 2 properties the other, he is going to kill someone some day. He is a retired Chicago officer. In the middle of the night he snuck up on the neighbor kid (23) going into his own garage and stuck a gun in his back and smooshed him into the driveway and held him with his foot on the back of his neck. Eventually the kid called our police department, cause the old guy liked playing cops and robbers a bit too much. The local police said to be thankful retired police are around to protect you. Protect you, he could have killed the kid.

Yes, most of them have law enforcement backgrounds and are not given the credit they deserve, nor the salary they deserve.

I had absolutely nothing against the officers. I'm glad they're there to clean up messes like this.

I'm certain this was the priority reason for Pleasure Island going away.
Not far from DTD, are some pretty icky areas. My son was stationed at Vista Way during the College Program (college housing) and the area around it, outside its secured compound, not so good. Gave me the Willies.
