I bet that if they don't get an outcry about this, next year we get NOTHING again!![]()
I wonder what they might do next year... The arches worked so well and still allowed viewing out and around while the lights were up... They were one of the only things I remember vividly from my first trip in 2004. They fit in so well as a transition between future world and WS. They weren't too futuristic, but they were "Modern" enough that they could go along with Future world's theming. I wonder if they'll try to bring in White and Blue LEDs. I think that'd look cool... I mean the fountain, the little light garden display can be white, and they could project PEACE on SSE like they used to... It'd be very cool, kind of a peace on Earth in the Future. But then again i'd really like them to bring back Holiday illuminations too, but that's a whole different story.
The Golden age never was the present age… but with human liberty we can fulfill the promise and meaning of America. To everyone a chance. To all people, regardless of their birth the right to live, to work, to be themselves, and to become whatever their visions can combine to make them. This is the promise of America...And I foresee the American adventure to continue for a long, long time!

Hopefully they will return next year, updated with LED lighting technology.

I just got home last night from my week-long trip. Only had Wednesday to do the parks and Epcot was the last on my list to visit. We got there at about 8:40 and sure enough, the lights were gone. The bridge to World Showcase is dark and bare leading up to the tree. Oh well.
Ick. You know, I'd much rather have old technology than no technology.

Yes, well apparently Disney would rather have no electric bill than the old electric bill.
They'd save even more on electricity if they shut down all those pesky rides. Imagine the savings!

I just dont see this "issue" at all with this.
It seems like such a minimal issue actually if any at all.
no lights...no big deal.
I have been there to see them, and like the grand canyon scene from the movie "Vacation" im usually done looking at them after about 1 minute.
Yes, the are nice..but i really couldnt care any less.
Will it be nice if they return? Probably so.
But, i find Epcot Center to be a fabulous park. Lights or no lights.
