Specials on free nights/tickets are ending soon

Disney is apparently either experiencing an increase in attendance or is losing money on their free night/ticket promotions, because it has officially been announced that all promotions are ending in the near future. This is your last chance to take advantage of their packages to extend your stay by a few nights on Disney!

I took adavantage of round two of the buy 4 get 3 in a moderate resort, and it only cost a little more for me and my wife and kid than it did when I went solo and stayed at Pop last year for free dining, super deal!

It's all over the papers down in Orlando. Not sure what reason for Disney dropping the promotion, but they were nice while they lasted.

And now the banner ads have started on this site, too. As serious as they were about letting us know about them, Disney's just as serious about letting us know that they're going away.

Re: Specials on free nights/tickets are ending soon

I haven't heard anything about the dining plan being taken away. I know they're getting rid of their free nights promotion. Dining plan is still up in the air, as far as I've heard. But once this economy bounces back and attendance is up to normal levels, I can easily see things going back to the way they used to be, without free anything.

Using pin codes that one can get EASILY by just surfing the web...often times saves MORE money than the free nights.

Re: Specials on free nights/tickets are ending soon

I believe that Iger stated that they would be phasing out the deep discounts in 2010 as forecasts have improved. The promotions were more or less to get bodies in the parks while people otherwise would have probably stayed home.

Free dining has been around for a while to do the same thing during the traditional slow period...it is probably that it will return - but probably back to its normal September/October timeframe.
