Roy Disney Has Passed Away

Well, we have lost Roy Disney. He was 79 and had been battling stomach cancer. His ashes will be scattered at sea. Rest in peace!

Sad to see him go, but Roy is in a better place now, spending time with Uncle Walt. Hopefully Disney will recognize him in the parks in some way.

I had the good fortune to hear Roy give a talk on the Tranpac sailing race one evening. You would have thought the guy invented Christmas morning, puppies and sunshine the way he spoke with such passion for the race and the sport. Afterward he was very generous with his time and even though he was there to talk sailing, when I asked him to sign a copy of the Fantasia 2000 dvd he said it would do his heart good and he'd be happy to.

It was very sad to hear that he passed away... I was totally shocked and upset to hear that he was battling cancer but at least he is with his dad and Uncle Walt now...
