WOW!!!!
Thanks for sharing!!
That's crazy!
We usually go in September. 5 minutes wait for Soarin!
Re: Mind Blowing Wait times!!!!!
Wait til NYE. Soarin' usually gets over 5hrs wait. insane!
Re: Mind Blowing Wait times!!!!!
Yeah it's always like that right after christmas and before new years.
But right after new years the people start to leave and lines get shorter.
Re: Mind Blowing Wait times!!!!!
Both MK and AK experienced "Stage 3" closings yesterday. That means that they were closed to all but resort guests and AP holders who already have tickets in hand. The parking lots would have closed even earlier. I believe they were fully open again around 3:30 or so.
You're talking about the busiest week of the year.
Re: Mind Blowing Wait times!!!!!
we have some friends down there. I'm sure things were crazy! lol
Re: Mind Blowing Wait times!!!!!
I have a friend that went to MK on Christmas Day and Epcot the next. He said that he arrived right when Morning EMH started and walked on HM, PP, and everything except SM at MK. He said the crowds were not bad until noon, but by then, they had hit all the big attractions that they wanted to do. He also said it was similar at Epcot the next morning.

Re: Mind Blowing Wait times!!!!!
Sorry, not worth going if the lines are that long.
Re: Mind Blowing Wait times!!!!!
I heard that again today MK reached a Stage 3 closing for a few hours, and DHS reached Stage 2 (ticket windows closed - only guests with tickets already in hand are permitted in).
For the curious:
Each park has some thresholds for capacity (these numbers are not known to the public). As each threshold is reached (via computer counting at the turnstiles), it initiates a particular stage of closure for that park. Until a certain number of people leave the park (which would generally be somewhat less than the threshold for reaching that stage in the first place), the restrictions would not be lifted.
Stage 1 - The parking lot entrance is closed. Only guests who can reach the park via Disney Transportation (buses, monorail and boats) are allowed in.
Stage 2 - All ticket windows are closed and ticket vending machines are turned off. Only guests with valid tickets in hand are allowed in.
Stage 3 - Only Resort guests (with Resort ID) and Annual Passholders are allowed in.
Stage 4 - No additional guests are allowed in.
Re: Mind Blowing Wait times!!!!!
Yes, I understand that it was another busy day at MK.
Re: Mind Blowing Wait times!!!!!
I wonder how many times a stage 4 happens!!
Still think September is a great time to go! :)
Re: Mind Blowing Wait times!!!!!
I know people love WDW, but, really.....?
That doesn't even look/sound remotely enjoyable.

MK Usually gets it about 4-7 times a year.
Epcot may on NYE.
DHS & AK a few times at random.
