there is a major difference between episodes iv and v, and the bad episodes vi, i, and ii... i personally thought that ep. iii wasnt half bad... mostly because it was dark, and it had j binks in it for half a second... i just wished that Lucas would have killed him off...

Does anyone have any specific details on what is included with this event? (other than what is stated on the site)

I'm still on the fence about shelling out $75.

If there will be exclusive merch available then that may convince me to go.

Interesting comments about the ride.
One thing we miss is we are thinking as adults.
Even though I really did not care for the last and first movies my children loved themThey really liked the pod race scene. Are we just too adult. Have we grown up?

I'm with you. I think there are some real gems in all of the movies and great opportunities to create increased ride value. I hope they offer 5+ various tours.

Just think of it, Star Tours really will offer TOURS (versus A tour). So cool. I'm stoked.

I will, however, savor my last ride on the classic in Aug at the studios. Bring it on Jar Jar, let's see what you've got!

i agree on both fronts... i too believe that having tours as opposed to one tour will be awesome...

but i too will be enjoying my last trip near Endor in August...

I rode for the last time 3 weeks ago. Im not going to WDW until next summer. I loved the atraction but it does need an update.

We rode it for the first time the year it opened ('87) at DL. We were competely blown away by the technology at the time, and it's still a GREAT ride!

Rode it for the last time

at DL this past June 3rd, and many times over the years at WDW.
We just hope, with the new iteration, they do it the justice that it deserves!

On an unrelated related note, that nut on Long Island who dressed up like Darth Vader and robbed a bank deserves a medal or something. Outstanding.

i know... wasnt that awesome...! that happened about a half hour from where i live... the best part was that he ends up being this teenager and a man tries to tackle him and he pulls a gun... Vader would never need a gun...! he'd use the force...

the article i read claims that he sounds nothing like James Earl Jones... must not have matured fully yet...

I'm optimistic about Star Tours II, but am definitely sad to see the original go...

My dad and I always used to love that ride, and he and I would go on it at least 2 or 3 times on the day of our family vacation we spent at Disney's MGM (...because it was MGM, then...). And after a long time of not going, we're thinking of going in January when I'm on college break, but it won't be open then =(

Oh well... just another excuse to go back!

i think you are in the majority here... those who cant wait for the updated attraction... but also sad to see the original go...

this is how i feel about the situation... but im going in a little under 3 weeks so i will see it one last time...

I'm not going to lie. Star Tours now is terrible. The que and the shop are both better than the ride itself. It is a highly disappointing ride based on the best film saga of all time. I hope the new one is awesome and I still think they should expand Star Wars a bit in the park. Its friggin Star Wars for cryin out loud. It could be a whole park if it wanted to be.
