Re: Last tour to Endor!!!!!

Did everyone hear about the show playing exclusively on August 14. it's called Raiders of the Lost Jedi Temple of Doom. It's a mashup live show starring Indiana Jones and Star Wars. Check out the video at the Disney Parks Blog!!!!!!

While it would certainly make sense to coordinate the opening of the ride with Star Wars weekends, there is going to have be to a pretty decent soft-opening span leading up to the grand unvailing. The ride has a long enough line as it is during Star Wars weekends, and you don't want to have it break down repeatedly at that time. Last thing you want to do is disappoint a bunch of geeks in costumes.

Anyway, is it really going to take them three quarters of a year to install the new ride? If it means using new ride vehicles, then move the old ones somewhere else while you're bolting the new ones to the floor. I've been on very similar rides at the boardwalk, for crying out loud. And you know those things aren't too sturdy. So why not shift them elsewhere, keep running the old one, and then when May 2011 rolls around, you're set.

your right... they will "soft" open it earlier...but i would suspect the announced opening will be during Star Wars Weekend...

and i see your point about the refurb... how long does it take to replace motion simulators and change some of the queue and such... pop in a new DVD of the film and off you go... but i think the long closure might be used as a way to "peak the tourists interest..." maybe keep it down so the anticipation is extremely high... (those geeks your referring to of course) and then... pow! hit em with it when their all gonna be there...

Re: Last tour to Endor!!!!!

I think I read somewhere that for the Last Tour to Endor event they will be having speical Star Wars fireworks. Can anyone confirm this? I'd love to go see them but don't want to pay for the hard ticket event. I'm wondering if I could be at the entrance of the park and still be able to hear the music and see a majority of the fireworks. I love the music from the movies and think it would be an awesome show!

Haha. love that.

Re: Last tour to Endor!!!!!

I was hesitant about buying tickets but finally broke down the week before. I am super happy that I did, Last Tour to Endor was amazing. Star Wars Weekends would be so much better if they added some of the stuff from this event.

Raiders of the Lost Jedi Temple of Doom was actually a really good show. It would be great to do it at least once or twice a day during SWWs. And c'mon...a Disney fireworks show with a Star Wars soundtrack...it was simply awesome. I would love to end a night at SWW with this fireworks spectacular.

Other than those high points, the crowd was very light. There was almost no wait for any rides...even Midway Mania. There were several Star Wars celebrities in the park that night too. We ran into Peter Mayhew, Anthony Daniels, Mark Hamill and Seth Green. We got to ride RnRC and ToT with Adrianne Curry. She is such a sweet girl and was totally happy to take photos with me. I know George Lucas was in the park too but I didn't se him.

The downside is that all of the shirts and pins sold out really quick. I managed to buy a Last Tour to Endor Popcorn bucket after closing time only because I asked a CM to talk to the popcorn vendor.

I'm happy that I made it to this once in a lifetime event and it was one of the highlights of my trip.

Re: Last tour to Endor!!!!!

I was disappointed there was only one showing of the Hyperspace Hoopla. The area was PACKED for it. And after seeing the Summer Nightastic fireworks at the MK, the Star Wars ones were just ok. But after saying that, I was really glad I went.

Agreed!
