| Re: Jack Blitch Speech to NASA It's quite interesting that in the new Fantasyland Expansion, he only showed mockups/picutres/computer graphics of Beuty and the Beast and Little Mermaid. He showed a drawing of the new Double Dumbo. Chairman Skaggs said that there were changes to the plans as they were presented at D23. I can't wait to see what changes are coming and I really hope they are something a lot better than souped up meet and greets. I also found it interesting that Jack refered to the Yeti as one of the largest Animatronics that they've ever created. Since he doesn't move anymore, could he now be considered a big hairy statue? Seriously WDI....FIX THE YETI!!!!! ![]() |

| A-Ticket holder | Re: Jack Blitch Speech to NASA I have heard from a good source that the problem with the Yeti is that the steel plate that it is mounted on is cracked, and no one seems to know how to repair it. |

| Re: Jack Blitch Speech to NASA All feels very "catch 22" to me...sounds like the Imagineers continuously-advancing creative technology, ultimately, and unfortunately, gets squashed by the "continuously-avancing" micro-managing money technology of the suits. WALT!!!!!!?

| Re: Jack Blitch Speech to NASA I've heard many places that the foundation (either steel or concrete) can't stand the stress of the movement because of the amount of force generated. Still, the Yeti is the whole point of the attraction and to be such a new ride, it is in pitiful shape. It's been forever since BOTH waterfalls have been working, the blowing snow effect at the top hasn't worked (or been turned on) in years, the bird at the top no longer flies and the Yeti doesn't move. Seriously, take the attraction down and fix it. This is Walt Disney Imagineering....the best of the best and this is an E-ticket attraction (one of the best in all of Disney's parks in my opinion); it's not Six Flags...the special effects tell the story and they don't work. |
