Its Official - Kodak Pulls Out
Didn't know if anyone heard this news story or not, but The Dis reported today that Kodak has pulled sponsorship from the Imagination pavilion and the theater that houses Captain EO at Disneyland. They are still sponsoring Mickey's Philharmagic.
I guess we can only hope that maybe this will be the beginning of better changes to the Imagination pavilion. It'd be a longshot, but I'd hope for the original to be brought back.
Re: Its Official - Kodak Pulls Out
hopefully another sponsorship rolls around with some big ideas...
Re: Its Official - Kodak Pulls Out
Hopefully, they will not eventually shut down with no sponsor as the reason.

Worse things could happen.
Re: Its Official - Kodak Pulls Out
I'm quite certain this was in the works for a while. I'm thinking the lackluster attendance didn't attract Kodak sponsorship dollars for contract renewal. Let's hope for some new creativity is invested in the pavilion.
By the way, they do sponsor Muppetvision currently too.

and philarmagic... and every single picture spot on property basically...
Re: Its Official - Kodak Pulls Out
I really hope a really creative company (LG/Samsung/Apple/insert your own here) sponsors the pavilion but before they sign the contract and/or check, Disney has to make it AWESOME in terms of sparking imagination. I don't want to go backwards (as much as I love the old version); I want it moving WAY forward. Of all the Epcot pavilions, Imagination has the most possibilities and it's very sad to see how far Kodak let it slide. Here's a hint to Kodak; attendance was down because the pavillion was not well done. Good ridance, I say.

The pavillion shut down at 7pm every night, I think. Not sure if any others were on that reduced schedule, but I'm sure the low crowds dictated it.

so does the universe of energy... by then Disney figures you dont need a nap anymore...
Re: Its Official - Kodak Pulls Out
Maybe a company will come and bring a lot of imagination!
Re: Its Official - Kodak Pulls Out
I just hope they don't do something with it that us motion sickness-sufferers can't enjoy (Mission: Space, Test Track, Soarin' were all once tamer attractions at one point).
Universe of Energy and The Land are operating without sponsors and aren't going anywhere (and The Seas, but it's Disney-themed...). I would not be too surprised if Imagination doesn't get a new one. I don't think Disney would let this one go the way of WoL, if not just due to the location, which is much better. I actually like 'Journey' III but ImageWorks is a disappointment.
Is ImageWorks currently open or walled off? IIRC there was a lot of Kodak in there.
Re: Its Official - Kodak Pulls Out
Isn't this the same building that the Kim Possible attraction ends in?

I think they did something with Kim Possible upstairs, didn't they? I think most of the old Imaginations! attractions are up there still also.
