whats that new doors... yeh they put them in because someone decided to take a header off of a tram to see if they could bounce on pavement... they of course didnt and probably sued Disney...

Home at last near Mickey!
I do have a photo of the door on the tram I rode at AK yesterday, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to move it from my phone to the forum. I'll give it a try later. The door is opened by moving the handle UP, and the door closes on it's own. It's rather a stiff spring-action, not fast, but firm. The door doesn't decrease the door opening, but it does prevent guests from jumping on or off. I'm guessing that trying to get a large parcel or stroller on as you get on will slow guests since the door doesn't stay open unless held. I think we can thank all the guests from all over the world who find the statement, "No more boarding at this time," to be aimed at someone else, and others who have tried to retrieve a dropped object while in a moving vehicle for this safety addition.

I've seen countless times when the tram would take off, someone would dart and jump on. This eliminates the urge.

It takes longer for people to get themselves and all their stuff in. First, they have to look to see how to open it: (there is an arrow showing the correct way to open it), which takes longer. Then I noticed people waited when the tram stopped. I guess they were waiting for them to open automatically. The whole process took more time than usual.
And this was on a slow day!
