So disney has gotten rid of the mirrors at the end of haunted mansion... For those of you who don't remember the mirrors... At the end of haunted mansion you would pass by a set of mirrors and a ghost would "follow you home"... And in the mirror you would see your doom buggy and a ghost would be "inside"... Well disney has replaced the mirrors with just a screen... here's a video: YouTube - Haunted Mansion's new hitchhiking ghost projections at Walt Disney World
Now I like the first part, where the three ghosts are shown with the great graphics, but I wasn't a big fan of the rest... The mirrors were magical for little kids... hopefully this doesn't stay

I haven't clicked the link yet, and might when I get home from work. The existing effect is cute, somewhat effective, but serouisly outdated.
Really, Walt? Disneyland is MY land? Why would I want a silly little land when I can have the WORLD.

Why not use the technology to update the effect, rather than create something that looks as garish as that?
Edit - read the comment about it being supposedly temporary. Well, here's hoping.

I went there and read it too. It seems they are surmising. Haven't seen any post anywhere that says any comment was confirmed by Disney as temporary. Surprised Disney Blog didn't indicate it was a re-hab. Was it on Lou's news cast, I haven't seen yet?Originally Posted by 20K

Now raising the prices on food, I can understand (I might not like it, but at least it makes some sense)... Wasting the money on CGI to make these ghosts, I don't get it...

One of the things that made that ride was the classic ghost effect those just look mismatched with the rest.

2011- March- 5 nights at Treehouse Villas then 2 nights at Bay Lake Tower
2010- March- 6 nights at Saratoga Springs then 1 night at Bay Lake Tower.
2010- July- 7 nights at Saratoga Springs.
2009- March- 9 nights at Boardwalk Villas.
2009- October- 2 nigths at Dolphin then Disney Wonder- 3-Night Bahamian Cruise (w/ a friend who I met on the Magic cruise)
2008- March- Disney Magic- 7-Night Eastern Caribbean Cruise (1st cruise ever)
2008- November- 5 nights at Coronado Springs
2007- March- 9 nights at Wilderness
2007- November- 2 nights at Swan
2006-1998 Yearly Trips sometimes two trips a year at various resorts which are the following(resort (# of times not previously stated))-
Saratoga Springs (1), Contemporary( Tower (1), Garden Wing (2 i think)), All-Star Movies(1 night then on the another hotel), All- Star Music (1), Wilderness Lodge (Lodge (1), Villas (?)) Coronado Springs (1), Animal Kingdom Lodge (1)

The word "temporary" is open to a great many interpretations, at least within the scope of the last twenty years of Walt Disney World. But I hope you're right.
The thing is, I don't think - based on the previous refurb - that they would be so stupid as to do something like that in the Mansion. Remember those awful days when we thought we would be getting an Eddie Murphy AA?
