British Invasion Replacement

The Britisih Invasion decided to make there Saturday April 30 shows there last ever at Disney.

Starting on May 3rd a new band The British Airwaves will start playing where British Invasion played. The British Airwaves will play songs from many different decades of British Music while giving random facts about British Artist. They will play songs by Dave Clark Five and the Beatles, Led Zeppelin and The Who.

I am pretty excited to see them when I got in June.

I will miss The British Invasion, but also looking forward to seeing the new band start their act. I'm glad Disney aren't leaving the band-stand empty for a long period of time!

It's interesting that they already have a replacement lined up so soon after British Invasion gave their notice...Disney must have been expecting it.

very happy they have decided to provide a replacement. the one thing I've noticed over the years at wdw is a dwindling of the number of live acts.

I agree! Hopefully soon they will bring back some live acts through out the resort or come up with new ones. It's these little things like this are why I love Disney so much.

Although I like the Beatles and enjoy their music and have enjoyed The British Invasion, I am a bigger fan of Led Zeppelin and other British bands. I really look forward to some new entertainment from the new band. Maybe they will throw in a little British metal as well! (probably not)

Honestly, it's hard for me to imagine Led Zeppelin or the Who playing in that little courtyard garden back there. I'll be curious to see which songs they play and at what volume.

Everyone knows the Beatles are a good representation of British music but not every Brit loves their music!!!! The British Invasion were good at what they did and usually attracted a good crowd.

I'm very interested to see what the replacement band covers, it's about time people were introduced to some British metal and punk music!!!!!

Have been surfing the forums and it seems that there are some mixed reviews on this new band... has anybody here had a chance to see them yet? Would like to try and see them if I can next week and form my own opinion, but would be interested to hear any other comments you guys might have.

Cara, how exciting that you have only 1 week until Destination D. I hope you get to see the new band. The one review I heard was very positive. Can't wait to find out your opinion.

Saw them a couple times last week. I heard Zeppelein, Kinks, Queen, The Who, Stones and yes, Beatles songs in their set. Good band, but I thought The Brittish Invasion had a better look and show. All in all, I think the new band is adequate, and like the diversity in their set, but miss the Brittish Invasion.
