Excited is a bit strong but I'm pleased. It's a step in the right direction.
So the rumors are right. The original tiki room is coming back. It was announced today at destination D that its coming back. Heres the Disney Parks blog post

Pleased also.
I do giggle a tad though. A D23 announcement, Disney is restoring
a minor attraction? Interesting.

Some people are like Slinkies.
They aren't really good for anything,
but they still bring a smile to my face when I push them down a flight of stairs.

I was fine with both versions, but the Under New Management was getting a bit dated instead of being "fresh".
so glad to see something closer to the TRUE version of the Tiki Room coming back to the Magic Kingdom...now if only they could return the old narration for the TTA...
Maybe it won't be a minor attraction now!
Okay probably not but very exciting news.
never saw the original so im excited to see it

Anyone else wonder if this couldn't have something to do with Gilbert Godfried's stupidity when the quakes in Japan happened? He lost his Aflac job and I'm sure Disney was none-to-thrilled to realize he voiced a character in one of their attractions as well (Iago).
Don't get me wrong... I'm personally thrilled. Not just because I loved the original (it was born of Walt's imagination) but because I can't stand the whole tacky theme of the two oversized cartoon birds taking over. Just never did anything for me. They just didn't fit with everything else in the room. Eh, maybe it's just me.![]()

My fav thing about the current version was the ending audio most never heard. If you waited and listened to the audio till the very end it was funny. Nice little hidden touch by the Imagineer team.
