Good! I hate driving around WDW and seeing the speeders and red light runners. When you're in the parks, get lost in the magic. When you're driving, focus on the road!
From Mouse Planet:
…Red light cameras have been installed at traffic lights across property. The cameras are similar to those that have been installed around Orlando and Orange County. Notable locations are at many lights along Buena Vista Drive. Please be careful driving, and remember that no time is a good time to run a red light.

Sometimes all you need is a reminder that out there lies a better place... a better world... a Walt Disney World.

They are all over the place in Northern IL. They actually put them in Schaumburg IL around the mega Woodfield Mall. That area is huge, congested and a tourist and convention magnet.
They ultimately removed the cameras because they were causing so many accidents with people who were not familiar with them. The amount of rear end accidents at those intersections were out of control! People just start slam'n on their brakes and boom!
That would sure take the magic out of trip.

Wow. Didn't see that one coming. They do need it though. Sadly mostly for locals and CMs.
Hope they help keep the roads safe.

Doesn't Reedy Creek have it's own law enforcement?
I'm glad to see they're doing this - when it's super busy at the parks, people tend to think that the traffic lights are for everyone else, not them.
I really never see anyone running red lights. And it's not like it's as busy as Manhattan. Usually the issue I have with driving on property is speeding.
Definitely lots of speeding on the wide open roads around property. I've been guilty of it a time or two myself, unfortunately.
But, like supernova I've never seen red lights run either. Lots of bad driving from the locals more than anything else.
Does anybody have an answer to my question? I've always thought that Reedy Creek had its own law enforcement agency...
I'll have to better check the cops I see on the property roads next time I'm there. I know I've seen officers and they're not "Orlando" police. Then again, Orlando is quite far away. If Disney has their own fire house, they must have Mickey jail somewhere, too.
The Orange County Sheriff is who Disney works with mainly.
Also Osceola County Sheriff for the South end of property.
