So basically... Splitsville is a one-building version of what was many buildings for "Pleasure Island". If it failed once... ???
Splitsville news - Splitsville bowling, dining, music and nightlife center coming to Downtown Disney West Side
Disney have today announced that this fall, construction will begin on Splitsville, a 50,000-square-foot upscale entertainment center that combines bowling with billiards, dining, music and nightlife. To make way for this experience, RIDEMAKERZ, currently located on the West Side in the former Virign Megastore building, will move to the Marketplace. Head below for a look at the concept art for the building exterior.
Splitsville currently operate four other locations in the USA, including two in Florida, at Miami and Tampa.

Not gonna lie, this sounds like a great idea for any other NON Disney resort.
I actually quite like this idea - it seems like a good fit for the old Virgin Megastore building.

I doubt we would go bowling while on a WDW vacation, but I'm sure there are others that may take a break from the parks on a rainy day for this.
When I lived in Philadelphia I used to go to one of these fancy bowling alleys and it wa definitely fun. However I can't see myself bowling on a WDW vacation... Especially because I'd probably only consider it on a rainy day, and then it will be packed!

always looking for WDW fans to interact with, and if you live in PA/NJ that's even better!
Imagine flying halfway across the world... To roll a bowling ball... I can do that at home... But maybe they are trying to hit the younger generation... Personally I think Disney lost Pleasure Island when they stopped making it a hard ticket event... Making people pay to get into the area kept the "problems" away in my opinion...

I'm sure people will enjoy it but it just seems to me, if alllll the clubs and fun "non-Disney" stuff to do at Pleasure Island didn't work, why would a place like this? I think the biggest "users" of this place will be Cast Members and locals. Which, as long as they make enough, is enough to keep it there for the rest of us I suppose.![]()
