Maybe they should replace the monorails with moving sidewalks so when you are next to a person who failed to wear long lasting deodorant you can give them a nice push into the Disney created Seven Seas Lagoon.

They'd probably come out smelling a lot worse.

I am glad that they are expanding the fleet, given the amount of hours each day that they are in service. They could certainly use a few more trains to allow for more maintenance time on this aging fleet.

I remember a few years ago speaking with a CM, on the platform, who was talking about them placing an order for the "next" generation of trains. Add that to the list, on the rumors thread.

I don't know if I'd consider this expanding the fleet. They were down at least two monorails because of that accident a few years ago. This "new" addition is just pieces from both of those placed together to make one functioning unit.

Even Disney didn't use the term "expansion". They just said they were adding another monorail to the fleet.

They are only down one at this point as Teal has been in service for a while - that was made by re-marrying the two undamaged ends and coaches.

Peach is the remaining coaches repaired as necessary, plus remanufactured/repaired cabs.

It freaks me out a bit that the monorail is made from damaged parts of the monorail in the accident...I am sure Disney is making every effort to ensure they are safe and everything, but its like riding in a Lemon car...you wouldn't buy a car that you knew was in a major accident, would you?

I am sure I am not the only one that has been on a broken down monorail before...not only does it delay your schedule, but its irritating because it shuts down the whole rail for awhile. I just hope these recycled monorails don't have technical difficulties that lead to issues on the rails.

The monorails did not crash because they were faulty. It was a mistake/mix-up. Simple as that.
