Exactly what I was curious about... I had no idea if it was one of those in and out then done type things or if there was a psychiatric eval etc. involved in their release. I agree though, the mandated things often are pointless because the people don't want to be there.
To me it's sort of like an alcohol addiction... even once you're clean... you probably should stay away from situations involving it. Temptation stinks.

Just like any addiction or illness, relapse is always possible.
