Last incident I read was in May 2011. Now another one. :inquis:

girls at Typhoon Lagoon

Typhoon Lagoon was the site of yet another child molestation incident last Friday, when 39-year-old Moses Velasquez was arrested for inappropriately touching three girls. Velasquez was at the water park with his wife. It has been reported by both the Orlando Sentinel and Central Florida News 13 that Velasquez is a registered *** offender who was convicted of lewd and lascivious battery for having *** with a minor 10 years ago.
According to the arrest report, the alleged victims—all related and on a family vacation—were approached during the periodic "tidal wave" generated by the wave pool. Velasquez reportedly would let the wave carry him near the girls, where he would remain underwater and touch them. One girl, age 16, claimed that he kissed her buttocks underwater. The second said that, on three consecutive waves, he pulled her bathing suit bottom down twice, and then he punched her in her crotch. The third girl also claimed that he punched her in the crotch.
Velasquez was observed by park manager Clint Bronson, who had the man removed from the wave pool. Bronson escorted Velasquez and his wife to the park's administrative offices. Bronson also radioed Robert (John) MacDonald, an off-duty sheriff's deputy working as park security, that he was needed to investigate the incident.
Velasquez was issued a trespass warning for all Disney property, and booked into the Orange County Jail on two counts of lewd and lascivious molestation on a victim under 18. The younger two girls are reportedly aged 12 and 13. Since the first girl did not notice the incident and could not locate the person who informed her of the kiss, charges could not be brought in that case. Bail was set at $5,125.

What a perv. But, Disney can't screen guests for that, and refuse them entry to the parks without a lawsuit. So everyone has to be aware of those around them, disturbing that this was their uncle doing this bad thing. Poor kids.

What a terrible thing in such a wonderful place.

People are sick. Not Disney's fault though...can't expect them to run a background check on every guest. :-(

these ppl are ******* gross

people with those problems are sick and CAN NOT be trusted in day to day life.. u let them out of jail and they will do it again.. havent they figure this out

Y'know... I can't help but wonder what wifey was doing during this... or how she feels about it. How can you be married to a man who does things like this? And I'm sorry but I doubt he "punched" them. I'm sure his had was not in a fist shape. Sicko.

Well, just yet another reason for me to continue to stay away from water parks etc. If someone touched my son like that, the police would be arresting me for man slaughter before they had to worry about bringing charges.

i dont know what the answer is... but leaving to do it again thinking they wont isnt the answer..

Here's a question... when a xes offender is released, do they have to go through any sort of rehabilitation etc. or are they just shoved through the system and squirted out the other end?

Do they go to prison and then get released after X number of years back out into the world or do they go to some sort of rehabilitation and/or psychological evaluation/assistance?

Yes, they go through a rehabilitation process...

They are sent to mandatory counseling, usually individual and group, and psychiatrically evaluated. Being a person with a counseling degree, I can tell you that often times mandated counseling is not the most effective because people are there against their will and not willing to cooperate. Therefore, even if they know it is good for them to get help, they are going to resist every step of the way. The other problem is that they are only mandated to counseling for as long as their prison term/parole is, so if the necessary work has not been done yet, it doesn't matter, they don't have to go anymore. Many pedophiles realize they have an illness, but admit they have no control over it. I am not defending them (this is a sick thing), just saying that this is what is most commonly reported.

I think the most common sense thing here...if you are a pedophile and you know you still/do harbor these tendencies, stay away from children and places where there will be children. These people are sick, and although they can be helped, very few get the help they need, so if they are looking to keep their nose clean, don't go to places like Disney World.
