Test Track news - PHOTOS - New ride vehicle takes to the Test Track at Epcot
A brand new ride vehicle has taken to the track at Epcot's Test Track testing facility. Twitter user Shawn Howard snagged a couple of photos (photo 1, photo 2) of the new blue vehicle earlier today. Interestingly, the new vehicle features a very prominent Chevy logo on the front grill, so this would clearly indicate that GM are very much keeping their sponsorship interests alive at Test Track. This is the first of the vehicles to be delivered, so it would seem likely that we will see different paint schemes and possibly other GM brands included. The timing of this makes perfect sense as WDI are currently in a car building phase, with Disney's California Adventure currently stocking its track with vehicles for the upcoming Cars attraction.

Yeah from what I am finding on other sites etc. that seems to be the general consensus. I think it makes sense. The ride technology itself is pretty similar (the whole real car on a track under the floor thing) so I guess it makes sense that if they are developing a bunch of ride vehicles for CA, they can make a few extra to refurb Test Track.

Looks like they still don't have cup holders either.
very very cool !!
A splash of color to all the cars would be a nice upgrade. It looks like the seats are a little different, at first glance, to me - more of a race car bucket seat design. I know the current ones are similar, but these look like they contour the lower body more.

Welcome to the Magic Kingdom!
Saw this earlier today. Very interesting...those cars were starting to get a bit old so this was needed in the near future anyway. I wonder why GM opted to just put Chevy logos on them (or just certain cars?). Very interesting to note, though

Alas I don't think that's the plan. They'll have the same base car (technology wise) but it'd be a complete (and huge) refurb to re-theme the attraction. Since GM uses is to tout how safe their cars are etc. and they are apparantly continuing to sponsor it, I doubt they'd miss the opportunity to continue doing that. Who knows...

I wouldn't want them to theme the ride anything other than what it is...it fits perfectly with EPCOT's whole idea now, plus the ride gives people some insight into what their vehicles at home have to go through to make sure they are safe on the roads, something most people have no idea about (including myself).

Bad idea. The original plan was to keep characters OUT of Epcot. Now that they've added Nemo and that huge meet 'n greet area, they are cartooning the future. And I do use the term "future" loosely. No need to move Cars into Epcot when you've got the perfect venue over in Pixar Place at DHS.

i agree, it is a good ride and makes good points about safety and whatnot. i was just saying it would be cool if we got a cars ride like dca is getting. but like i said, it wouldnt fit with the epcot "theme", i understand what is said bout nemo...but actually after just being there and seeing how much nemo stuff is integrated into the attraction, it still is a larger focus on the fish/dolphins/sharks...nemo is just added in because the kids can relate to him and his friends and realize, oh...this fish is like nemo cause he is a clownfish/ect....
