Haven't heard anything about this, but I'll be there in a little over a week and I'll try to find out something.
heard it on some sites... i also saw a video... though it was staged...
Nice to hear they are finally starting this. They have been testing for some time at DLR. Glad WDW is finally getting it!
Yeh... Let's see how long it takes to become a regular occurrence in the parks...
thats the one i saw the other day... lest see it in the parks all the time...
I hope they limit it to just Mickey, maybe Minnie. Otherwise, character line wait times are going to get out of hand.
At most I only see it happening to indoor meet locations (it won't happen with characters that meet outside). Also, it definitely could happen to more then just Mickey and Minnie (other articulated characters include Timon, Goofy, Donald, Chip and Dale).
Chip and Dale would be cute.
Based on the technology I've seen so far, I wonder how difficult it is to create the voice with the software? Pre-programmed messages can just be recorded by the current voice actor. But for someone's voice to be changed while speaking and have it need to match that of an identifiable character, that's something totally different.
i feel like that is definitely an idea... it would be a bit much to have them all over the park... and like mike stated... the lines would be out of hand...
yeh... i dunno a whole lot about the technology... is it similar to what they use at Turtle Talk, or is this something totally different... it seem like that technology on a larger scale...
Turtle Talk is another one that always keeps me guessing, Joe. But on my trip to DLP last year (will get my trip report up one of these days!), the Stitch show they have there is far superior to our simple swimming turtle show here in the US.
