POTUS visit to WDW changes hours, etc.

I'm surprised this hasn't been posted here yet...

President Obama will be visiting WDW on Thursday to announce a new initiative, which has resulted in a lot of changes for Thursday...

- MK no longer has morning EMH
- Epcot, DHS have added evening EMH
- AK added morning EMH
- DHS is getting a special fireworks show that night only
- Main St. USA will be closed from park opening until after Obama is done, approx. 3pm
- The 3pm parade will actually be at 3:30pm (go ahead, ask what time the 3 o'clock parade is at!)
- The backstage overflow path will be used to get guests in/out without using Main St. USA
- From an internal Hub FAQ, it appears that ADRs at the Plaza Restaurant may be affected and Disney is supposed to be contacting those guests. Tours may also be altered, but nothing else should be affected.
- Only invited guests/press will be able to actually attend the press event.

I'd expect lines to get in to take longer as there will probably be far heavier bag checks, etc.

Yeah, I didn't look in one the rumors forum since it was now official news

It's not a vacation. He isn't even going to be there that long. They are just using it as the venue because of the subject.

He's reportedly flying in, getting to the MK, giving the speech, and leaving, all within a few hours. His family might be there, but there is nothing to indicate that anything else is taking place with regards to their presence.

I don't think AF1 can land on a STOL strip easily

Perhaps fly him into an airport and then helicopter him over? Though the ride across I4 isn't too bad. We'll see.
