Anyone actually make it to the end of one of these nights though... I've been in MK at 3am and there usually is NO ONE in there... I guess they paid attention and realized that it cost more money to run the park than anything they are making back for being open... Though they shouldn't look at it this way we know they have...

I simply meant that the night time hours were no big deal to me because I'm usually spent by then anyway. So cut away!
i think that is a majority of people... the end of EMH in the parks at night is pretty quiet...
Our family is one of the few that would stay until the wee hours of the night (or in some cases morning) during EEMH. That last hour is where most of our WDW magical memories would happen. The parks were empty. It was surreal. I can see why it isn't cost-effective for them from an operations standpoint though. However, it will now leave ONE AND A HALF Evening Extra Magic Hour for on-site guests. It takes at least 30-40 minutes to get those already in the queue to clear out before it is only EEMH guests.
I don't think Disney will "extend" regular park hours. I compared the park hours for January 2012 and January 2013 and they are the same. :( This may force more on-site guests to do Morning Extra Magic Hour. Does anyone else get an eerie feeling they will slowly dwindle the Evening Extra Magic Hours at WDW and just go with Morning Extra Magic Hour (Magic Morning) like at Disneyland???

They may have. We were there for EMH in 2010.
And it was later than 8pm, because it was the last week of May and we rode EE in the dark. Which is really rare, and really cool.
Yeah, we were there for one in Dec 2010, and I think it was one of the last. At least in December it was dark - it was cool going up Everest and seeing everything lit up. And you got to see the yeti better even if the lights were mostly out, since your eyes adjusted :)

EE takes on a whole new level of coolness at night. On par with Splash. Seriously.
