During EMH's at MK, an attraction swap starts next week

Starting on Sunday August 26th Splash Mountain will no longer be part of the EMH line up. Instead guests will be treated to
Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room! Oh Boy!

Now that I'm a Florida resident (as of August 29th) EMH don't mean a whole lot to me anymore. I guess I'll just go every day instead.
Our new home is 5 minutes from the Magic Kingdom and we can see and hear the fireworks from there every night. yeah!!!

Hmm... I never really rode Splash Mountain at night because I didn't want to walk around wet... At night.... And follow that with a bus ride, which is normally ten degrees below freezing anyways. So I can't say I'm terribly disappointed. My kids, on the other hand... :-/

I do love the Tiki Room, though! Especially since the remodel!!!

My gut tells me this is just the foundation for bringing the mountain down for a long refurb. If they have a few extra hours at night to do some prep work and have some time to investigate what needs to happen during a refurb. it makes sense to swap out the EMH early. I'd say by the time they bring most of FLE online or immediately after the Christmas holidays they should be bringing her down. Just way too much wrong with Splash for the last two years.

When it gets cooler outside they drop the water-Splash level. I've rode her in the winter months and not a drop of water splashed on me. It is really a pretty view from the top during the night and I was lucky a few times to be up there during Wishes.

This upsets me because Splash Mountain is my favorite ride, and I feel like the less thrill rides that are open, the less time I will spend at EMH. I do love the Tiki Room and it is a Disney classic I always look forward to, but as far as attractions go, in my book atleast, it doesnt compare to Splash Mountain. I feel like during EMH, guests want to ride the big thrills and the most popular rides at the park. Just my opinion!

The Magic Kingdom will be offering The Country Bears Jamboree in addition to The Tiki Birds as EMH replacement for Splash Mountain being removed from the EMH line-up.

EDIT: CBJ is currently down for a refurb. CBJ will be added to the EMH when it comes back online, anticipated, October 16th.

And Country Bears has come back online. Show is now shorter, edited out some content from a few scenes while removing other scenes altogether. Changed out some the bears costumes.

I think it is being done due to cost. I am sure operating Splash Mountain is much more expensive than operating the Tiki room.

I think it is for the rehab, they have been tinkering with Splash in the overnight hours likely in Prep for the Rehab.
If all goes well with the rehab I'm betting Splash will be added back to the EMH when she comes back online. By then EMH will be an hour shorter.

yeh i think so as well... I couldnt imagine Splash being closed in August during EMH's... that would just seem wrong...
