Walt Disney World (WDW) News Discuss 999 Happy Haunts Ball in the News & Rumors forums; Does anyone know if they are going to have a 999 happy haunts ball this year. Have not heard any news yet....

    999 Happy Haunts Ball

    Does anyone know if they are going to have a 999 happy haunts ball this year. Have not heard any news yet.

    Rumor is that there will NOT be a WDW Happy Haunts ball, although it has also been speculated that the attraction may close for a refurb. I would think that if they were going to do that this October, it would be on the schedule already.

    Let me confirm that rumor. I just now called WDW special events for a guest regarding this very same question and they informed me that there will be no 999 Happy Haunts Ball this year at either DL or WDW.

    The reason they gave me was. . . . because of the 50th anniversary celebration

    They made no mention of a refurb.
    What I say 100 times each day:
    "It's not a Disney Resort even though it's on Disney property!"

    I know it is probably "old news" to most of you HM Maniacs, but at our last NFFC Meeting one of our guest speakers was Jason Surrell and I enjoyed his talk so much that I immediately went out and got this book. Well, it arrived just yesterday and it is fantastic! He does have another book coming out on Oct 1st that examines The Pirates of the Caribbean attraction and movies. He will also be doing a book signing here in Orlando on Oct 15 at the B&N in Dr Phillips.

    Thanks for the info about the POTC book Crazy Hakim. I loved Surrell's HM book that I have recommended it several times here on DWT. It's a great resource for us HM fanatics as well as Chef Mayhem's site. (www.doombuggies.com)
