I rode it earlier...I too was a bit let down....the meet on the other hand was awesome!
The first thing I want to say is good job getting it together on Sunday. Saturday was horrible. My husband and I got there a few minutes after the park opened and we were told we had an hour and a half wait just to the checkpoint. No one could move around the line and we wanted to do other things besides EE that day. We left and went to MGM and came back Sunday. We got there a few minutes before they opened the gates and were pleased to see they got their act together. We waited 30 minutes.
A CM told us that they had double what was expected on Saturday and they honestly didn't know how to handle it. I'm glad we didn't give up came back the following day.
I know it's not the thrill ride you can get at some parks, but that is not Disney style in my opinion. They pay attention to the little details that keep you interested and coming back for more. I can't wait to do it again.
I was there about 9:30 on Saturday morning and we went to the checkpoint by Tarzan Rocks and we were let right in. We stopped on the bridge for a few minutes cause the girls wanted to watch the character boat as it was taking a turn around the lake. The line to get a fast pass was estimated at 40 minutes long just to get a fast pass for I believe it was between 2:30 and 3:30. We had plans to go to the other parks since we had to drive back to Jacksonville that night so we just stood in the standby line. It was a 90 minute wait but I feel like it was worth it. The line moved at a decent pace it honestly didn't feel like a 90 minute wait until we got to the area where they had all these bells hanging and everyone was ringing them. We also got to see quite a few friends we hadn't planned on meeting up with so that made the waiting in line a little easier. I think they could probably tweak it a little bit and maybe transition from one track to the next a little faster but other than that it was great. I will definately be riding it again. I am hoping for a soft opening the weekend we are there in February so my sisters can ride it with me.
Ok disneyworldtrivia members,
I have a tip, but it is pretty bad because it's not honest, but hey this is Disney so......
Well when arriving at AK sunday, My father and I were at the turnstiles backed up to the ticket purchasing booths. We finally go in, but there were masses stopped at Tree of Life.
Then my father put on his MEAN thinking cap and came up with the most cruelest and down right wrond thing to do. We started acting if my mom were at the front saving us a spot. So we weaved in and out of guests till we finally got up there. No one really cared, but we looked a little suspicious.
I feel bad about it now, but you have to admit, it got us to EE faster LOL
But still bad it was.
Some photos from Everest are now posted in the Magical Mountain AK Photo's section:

You're lucky a CM didn't see you because you would have been sent back to the end of the line as I saw someone else being escorted. Visitors beware...Disney frowns on holding places in line...no matter who you are or who is up ahead... even if there really IS someone holding your place for you. And you obviously mistook the reactions of those who had been standing in line.Originally Posted by disneybuff100
