Trouble at the Contemp.

Sad news: Something went terribly wrong at the Contemp tonight.

Disney's official statement is that a watermain possibly broke and set off several sprinkler heads.

Reality: Disney ordered an evac of the area and the resort itself. The last time this type evac was ordered was 9/11. Something -jolted- the building, many guests said something went 'boom'. I have not heard a definite number but possibly 80+ rooms are wet, possibly the 12th floor. RCFD had many Fire Trucks there as well a a row of Ambulances. This is a larger than normal response to a sprinkler head activation. Also all automatic gates were turned off and manned by Disney Security. Monorail what shut down on the spot. As of 11pm only one monorail is running the loops and it seems to be testing the track at the Contemp. It is going very very slow through the building. All guest are being placed at other resorts for at least the night.

This is not the best news to report, but it is the latest from WDW. Hopefully everything is good.

Yes it was. Most of the guests were moved to Y&B and Boardwalk. I have heard different reports as to the extent of the water drainage. Many said it was looking like a waterfall from the top.

I would guess if a pipe that big did 'pop' it may have moved the building pretty good. Now the question is will they carge more for the interior waterfall view rooms? (sorry just had to
