Hurricane Frances & WDW Operations

Well this is all that is known right now. Expect updates from Disney.

Most dinner chows have been cancelled starting tonight or tomorrow for several days.
The Electrical Water Pageant has been cancelled starting tonight.
The Tom Joyner Family Renunion has been cancelled and will not be rescheduled.

The parks are expected to be closed Saturday and Sunday.

As always this info can change as fast as the Hurricane itself.

As much as I can, I sure will.

Already have all the cords layed through the house for power. Hopefully the cable lines will still work (yeah right) and I will have limited net access thanks to the generator I was lucky enough to pick up tuesday in Tampa.

Not Disney realted but other parks updates: Universal and SeaWorld will close at 3pm on Friday.

Today AK and MGM closed at 6pm
MK at 8pm
Epcot at 9pm

Saturday Expected:
Everything Closed

All this does depend on the movement of the storm. As of 8pm it has slowed to a crawl at 4mph. Not what we need.

Guests at resorts are able to pickup food, towles, toliet paper etc. at various location at each resort to take to their room and are being told they may not be able to leave for up to 40 hrs. As they did with Charley, many Disney movies will be shown on in room tv's.

I wish, not a chance. It is about to move over the warmest waters it has seen yet, 88 degrees. They expect a drastic increase when it hits. With it going that slow ti will only help it get bigger.

Also here are some funny pics to look at. I took a moment to go around the neighborhood and see how everyone who waited too long was doing. Some are using doors from their house to protect windows while others have used their fence. People are in a panic after what Charley did. You can still see unrepaired roofs.

That house with the plastic on the roof will not last 1 minute. Why is this happening?

there are actually several layers of plastic on that one, he was lucky to egt that much, but I agree, the house will be getting wet again.

Why is all this happening? Mother Nature has another delivery for us she just wanted to catch up on her Florida quota for this century. LOL Charley was smaller and moved though fast - did enough damage to freak everyone out and is still very fresh in our minds. Frances is a bit larger than Texas and taking her sweet ol time. She will destroy anything Charley made weak. Already there are power outages in Orange County from the 20 mph winds we are getting right now. The whole system is weak. Also all the debris Charley left behind is just sitting there, they were expecting a 5-6 month cleanup timeline. All that stuff will become missiles when Frances comes through.

devkxl is at Disney World now. Hope she (and her friends/family) is safe and sound.

So far Orlando/Kissimme/Disney have been 'calm' We are about to start getting the real good(bad) stuff. Last known count was 750,000 without power. Tornados & funnel clouds have been popping up everywhere. about 6 hours ago a sheriff officer had her vehicle picked up by one in the Kissimmee area. I wish this thing would just get a move on!
