That is so cool! I wonder how long it takes them to get all those lights up and then synchronize them to the music. Ah, just another piece of Disney magic.

Wow... thats really cool! I never have had the chance to see it and probably won't this year either. If I do go for Christmas, I will most likely only visit Magic Kingdom.
My name is Emily and I am addicted to Walt Disney World. There, I said it and I'm proud.

I know they had already started stringing the lights when I was there in August.

I was thinking that we'd seen this or a version of this in one of our holiday trips, but realized that we'd never made it to MGM at night. Does this play one or two times durning the evening? Is it on the main street in MGM?

It is all over the 'big city' buildings in the backlot section of MGM. I think this is the 3rd (maybe 4th?) year there - prior to that it was on the residential street buildings that were part of the backlot tour (where Lights Motors Action! now stands).

The lights are usually on for about 2 - 3 hours before park closing. The music/dancing lights are supposed to occur every 15 minutes.

What kind of ruined it for me is that I saw a video of the same exact song with a lighting sequence almost identical but it was on someone's house

Even though it isn't officially open.... Are they putting the lights on at night already? So if I went this weekend, would I be able to see them?

I've heard they had a few test nights already - Official opening is Monday, so you might get lucky and see them! Ask at guest relations when you go to MGM.

I went to the Osborne Lights tonight... (Yay opening night!) I was in the parks taking a personal day with some friends visiting from out of town, and I went to the lights tonight.

I recorded two videos with my old ghetto camera, so it doesn't have any sound, but I DO have two videos of the dancing lights that I uploaded to youtube. :-)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f3nf29U3vrs

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=epc6RUBS-qU

The first link is cooler than the 2nd link.

Also the lights only dance on the main street of lights, so if you are standing over by the "peace on earth" globe and can't see the main street, you won't see them dance! They dance about every 15 minutes.

I also have some pictures I'll get around to uploading and also I'll go back and get more since I am addicted. I was highly impressed. :-)
