Tom Sawyer Island Changed to PIRATE ISLAND!

THIS IS JUST A RUMOR!!!!!!

Rumor has it that Tom Sawyer Island is going to be changed to what would be called "Pirate Layer at Tom Sawyer Island". The island would feature pirates from the hit movie Pirates of the Carribean, a scary skeleton type thing, and interactive games. I have no say in this, b/c i have NEVER been to TSI (I know, I know).

How would you all feel if it was changed?!?!

They better not dare change it!!! TSI is perfect just as it is..it is such a nice break from the crowds and a great place for little ones to run around....POTC the movie has gotten quite enough attention already!!

I'd have to see what they do with it before I judge. However, I feel that they have enough pirate stuff and t his wouldn't exactly fit into 'frontierland.'

I heard they did away with most of the menu for Aunt Polly's Dockside Inn awhile ago, is this true?

I realllllly hope they dont change this, what is the point of having two potc attractions in MK? it wouldnt fit in with frontierland at all. Walt would not approve of this, he had a special connection with Mark Twain and I hope this is an attraction that will never be changed or removed!

I just heard that Disneyland Anaheim's Tom Sawyer Island was going to be changed into Pirates Lair & I think work has already begun. And as for the Walt Disney World's Tom Sawyer Island, well I rather see something more of Tom & his adventures, not always about Pirates!

Never been a big TSI fan, I know it is classic, but I feel it is ready for an update....Just my opinion.

An update maybe...but a pirate theme would be overkill. I think they should keep the same theme, maybe add an obstacle course or refurb the existing structures?

I've read some stuff about this going on as well. One thing is they are not adding Pirates of the Caribbean to Tom Sawyer's Island, but are adding elements relating to 'Mississippi river pirates' appropriate to the time and setting. Now, that might make some more sense. Still has the elements of excitement and danger, but not Cap't Jack. Maybe someone who has read Tom Sawyer or Huck Finn more recently can tell us if there is an encounter with river pirates in the books?

Not sure how many people would think "oh, those are RIVER pirates not Caribbean pirates" instead of "oh, look, more pirates" though.
