Turtle Talk
Does anyone know why Turtle Talk is scheduled to be closed next month?
Sometimes all you need is a reminder that out there lies a better place... a better world... a Walt Disney World.

From Mouseplanet
...Turtle Talk with Crush closes down from January 29 through February 16, most likely for its expected move into the remaining pre-show theater from the original Living Seas pavilion. When it opens back up, the Finding Nemo area of the pavilion should return, and the old Turtle Talk theater will be repurposed.
Nothing to countdown to, so just smile and be happy everyday!

Ok so even that's a rumor then since it says "most likely for..."
Something has apparently changed since I was last there because there was no preshow. Just a huge line of people waiting to go into the theater.

When you entered the old "The Living Seas", you would enter a large round room with water-like projections on the upper part of the wall. It would count down until the next departures for Seabase Alpha. Then doors would open and you could enter a theater for the 'preshow,' a movie about The Seas ('and it rained... and rained... and rained....'). In recent years they had two sets of doors so you could skip the movie and go directly to the hydrolators, so not too many people were watching it.
The rumor has been circulating for a while (a CM I spoke to there last August said it is going to happen) that the theater that held that movie was going to become the new home of Turtle Talk.

Ohhhh!!! Ok! I get it now. Yeah I know of the preshow for the living seas. I thought what they were saying was a preshow for Turtle Talk. Ok... thanks!!
So the rumor is that the closing is to move Turtle Talk from it's current home in the downstairs level of the "acquarium" and up to the old preshow location. Got it!

I'm assuming that since just Turtle Talk is going to be closed, the rest of the pavillion will be open as usual. It better be... that's the thing I'm looking forward to the most with my son. He's 10 months old and absolutely enthrawled with fish.

I heard this rumor today too, from another source, and I was really bummed. I have been to WDW 3 or 4 times since Turtle Talk opened and I have yet to see it because the line has been too long and I didn't have time to wait.
However, I went onto the official WDW website after learning this news and no where in the operational updates for Epcot in February does it say that Turtle Talk will be closed. Therefor, I do not think this is true. I certainly hope not anyway!

There's a bunch of websites out there that post the planned closures and refurbs and Turtle Talk is listed on each as being closed from January 29th - February 16th.
The official Disney site rarely lists attraction closures that aren't for extended lengths of time (i.e. something being open only seasonly like Wonders of Life or undergoing a huge refurb like EL Rio Del Tiemo). This is why you usually don't know of something that's been closed for only a few days until you see it on the board in the park.
We'll see though. When I come back I can report on whether all the sites out there with this listed as being closed for those two weeks were right or wrong.
