Google Earth

Has anyone heard of this program called Google Earth? My husband downloaded it and its awesome! You can look over any part of Earth with pics from space, and when you go to FLorida, you can see totally awesome space pics of DISNEY WORLD! Ever wanted to see an aerial view of the parks? they are there! ITS SO COOL!!!

We have it here at work and it IS cool. All our fire engines and medic trucks have laptops in them, and they have that program.

Google Earth is awsome, but also try msn live (you can google it also) and try their maps. a little newer in some areas and you can pan around to the back of the buildings.

I try to guess when the satellite photos were taken, judging by what old attractions are shown, or which recent ones are under construction. For example, the satellite photo of the MK clearly shows the old 20,000 lagoon and ride track (still filled with water), which dates it to 2003/2004 at the latest. At DAK, Everest is still under construction, and at Pop Century, the land is clear for the "Legendary Years" section, but none of the buildings are up yet (it hasn't progressed much further as of my last visit in August 2006). I'm also guessing that the phots were taken in the off-season, as the parking lots and parks themselves aren't very full.

Yes, it's true, I spend far too much time studying this stuff. I'm almost to the point where I should be able to recognize the parks from the airplane window!

I also have seen my house and the car that I owned back then. It's cool, but admittedly a little creepy (home searches, that it).

in my school we use google earth for social studies it is really cool they gave use a few minutes to see what it could do when they first showed use it.

Thanks for the msn live site. I like it a lot better than google earth.

I was a beta tester for GE and the first thing I looked up during the testing was Epcot. LOL!

They are both great, but as said before, the images are old. If you are on live and Use 2d You see one image and switch to 3d and it is a different image one is much older than the other. I had Saratoga Springs on there during early construction and when I switched to 3d it was an old image of The disney institute villas from many years ago. I wish they could update the images to more current ones.
