i had never seen this before. it is pretty cute! but i doubt it will become the new mickey
I found it on you tube and thought it was interesting, I have no proof other than my imagination that they are planning on changing it.
But it was interesting to see the reaction if they planned on changing Mickey. I doubt they will ever change the 'shape' of Mickey because after all he is a world reknown corporate logo. That would be bad business sense.
But Mickey has gone through various changes in his long life time. Black and White, then color, then some how his pupils shrank so you could see the whites of his eyes, at one point you could see the inside of his ears. Yet everytime you see them, it's still Mickey.
I liked the guy's portrayal.. it was new and innovating. More over, I think he could have made his 'own' character, that I would equally or if not more. I give him props because he's got imagination. When I hear people say "Mickey can't look like that." It reminds me of the story of Walt's teachers telling him "Flowers can't have faces".
So anyone up for "Alien Mickey"?
haha! alien mickey, that'll keep the kids coming!
but i really dont like the neo mickey. if course i really dont like japanese-ish cartoons either. i like the mickey now and they shouldnt change it anymore

We don't really think this would replace the current Mickey, do we? I mean, that isn't even a possibilty.

I found this Neo Mickey a little too much like Mr. Fantastic, I mean did you see his arm go reaching out to the sky? This isn't the Mickey Mouse we need today!

I admit I like Neo-Mickey (except the stretchy arm part, that was just weird...) he's so adorable!
But I doubt this would be the "New Mickey", because Disney would not change their main Mickey quite that drastically.
Although it would be the perfect offshot brand...
Wow that mickey looks kinda creepy.
There's no way they would change Mickey that much. It would just be blasphemous to Walt.

Good point ChampDisney. Can you imagine having a slew of those guys roaming the parks?

He won't win the MVP or be voted into the Hall of Fame........then again, some heroes don't play games.

That's true, but that's not the reason they wouldn't do this. Disney is the "brand recognition" capital of the world right now, and Mickey is the brand. They would never abandon such a recognizable brand symbol. The company just doesn't take those kind of risks anymore
