Ok forgive me for the blasphemy but why do so many object to the hand and wand? I know it wasn't part of the original EPCOT but I think it was a nice plus up. The Scorcer's Hat wasn't part of MGHM but I think it improved the vista there (except of course that it did mess up the giant hidden Mickey).
And think of How many people tried to take the photo of the hat on there heads! LOL Me included. Try doing that with the Movie ride theater..

Basically because it has nothing to do with the theme of Epcot. It doesn't fit at all. The hat is completely in line with the theme of MGM - Disney Movies. The hat comes from Fantasia. The hand and wand do nothing to enhance what Epcot is, they just serve to make it more kid-like, and closer to the theme of the Magic Kingdom. Spaceship Earth by itself is an engineering marvel and has its own intrinsic beauty. By adding the hand and wand, the architectural icon was de-emphasized. The emphasis is now on the hand and wand itself, and makes the geodesic sphere look somehow "smaller" and less grand.Quote:

Ever sicne the end of the '2000' celebration, they have nver shown the wand in the map illustration of Epcot.
just came back from there 2 days ago and they had it completley down already
